If they were proud of it then I doubt they would hide it from family and friends. I don't know of any plumbers or lawyers who are trying to keep their job a secret.

I'm not trying to put anyone down. All of us are just trying to make a buck to feed ourselves and our families. It is just that to me, to be offended by a john when what you are doing is an obvious embarrassment to yourself and your family and friends is absurd. It is something that you should already know comes with the territory. A plumber is not offended when he goes into a house and the toilet is chock full of shit, whereas a layperson may find it appalling.

It reminds me of the old joke:

At a dinner party Churchill says to his dinner companion, "Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?

The woman responds, "My goodness, Mr. Churchill. I suppose I would. ".

Churchill replies, "Would you sleep with me for five pounds?

Traveling thru MDE on my way to St Maarten. Due to award ticket availability within my available miles, I am planning to have 3 nights in MDE before I head on to SXM. Normally I rent apts for my stays, but hate to put down a $300 deposit for just a few nights. I also want to have ladies over, so I am looking for a nice hotel that allows guests. While I prefer not to pay a guest fee, that is not out of the question. I will be returning to MDE, after a week in SXM, but will have an apt for that timeframe.

Any suggestions from the MDE vets for a girl-friendly hotel of 4-star quality?

I am staying at the Mansion on my first trip, but the Holiday Inn Express gets good travel reviews, is in a nice area, does not cost many loyalty reward points, and some of the earlier reviews seem to indicate it is guest friendly if initially booked as a double. I an curious as to how guest friendly it currently is. Thanks.

I have a review of this hotel written over on TripAdvisor titled "Excelente (Excellent) for Medellin!" The hotel is chica friendly, and this is what I said in my review about that:

Single gentlemen, you might be wondering, "Is Hotel Sites chica friendly?" The answer is yes, but remember that when you make your reservation, make it for two people and not one. If you make a reservation for two people and then bring your chica back to your room, the additional cost is only 7,500 COP. However, if you make your reservation for one person and then bring your chica back to your room, the additional cost is a much-higher 100,000 COP.

Just searching flights from MIA to MDE after 12/2/2015. Round trip was $153. Has anyone used this airline? I usually use either Avianca or Jet Blue, but for that price I definitely need to consider changing my airline.

" Looks like people either love it or hate it, with some of the complaints focused on Viva Colombia's business practice of adding on additional fees, which apparently drives up the price of a ticket. More frighteningly, there's a story from the UK Daily Mail from February 2015 titled "Passenger films terrifying moment plane wing bursts into flames in mid-air while flying above Colombian city of Bogota. " Guess which airline was referenced? That's right, Viva Colombia, Flight 8023 to be exact.

I say go for it and let us know later about your experience with the airline.

Honestly, you were one of only a couple of people who responded to my original post about the best strip clubs and cases in Medellin. And since you helped me out, I decided that I would try to help others when I got back. Now, when a family or a woman checks TripAdvisor looking for a decent hotel in town, they might understand that the hotel is a den of working girls and single men with questionable morality and attitudes. The hotel might lose customers for your review. I am surprised they did not ask TA to remove your review as "derogatory".

I give you another example. If you check the web site of the "Mansion", you will NEVER see any hint to anything related to this forum or special guests. And of course it must be like that!

And apparently, TripAdvisor members don't have a problem with my review, either, as I've already received 4 "Helpful Votes" and had someone here on ISG specifically tell me that they booked a couple of weeks at Sites due to my detailed review.

And why would anyone think that Sites is "a den of working girls and single men with questionable morality and attitudes" based on what I wrote? My review is 15 paragraphs long, and I discuss everything, from transfers to breakfast to room quality to payment options. And in only one paragraph do I mention that the hotel is chica friendly, which apparently the hotel is perfectly fine and experienced with, as the 7,500 COP and 100,000 COP fees were stated to me by the receptionist, Julian. And incidentally, Julian also stated that the guests at Sites are overwhelmingly American, I think the number he stated was 90 percent. So I don't think Sites is going to lose many customers, if any at all, anytime soon.

This is the internet, a wonderful medium for exchanging information. We can either be honest and openly share information and be well-informed for our mutual benefit, or we can be silent, stick out heads in the sand, and have to settle for the same ol' hotel (Mansion) and the same ol' chicas periodically advertised by pimps in the Medellin Reports thread here on ISG. I'm happily a member of the former group, and not the latter.

It is very easy to use, in your case you simply enter in "Viva Colombia" in the search bar. It is a amazing feature, try it you may like it. SMFH.
