Does anyone have any recent updates on the bars in Blok M, particularly on Jalan Melawai and Jalan Falatehan? Is it worth staying in this area for a change? Most of the nightlife seems to be concentrated on the North side, including Kota Indah, Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta, Kelapa Gading. My favorites are New Royal, Starmoon, Kings Cross, Hotel Classic in these areas.

I do not understand why the mamas try to give those girls when the girls say no. I have been refused 5 times. I go on that side to look but that is about all.

Will be spending a few days in Jakarta & Yogyakarta starting from tomorrow, and have been eagerly RTFF these past few days. I did have a couple of questions:

1. From what I've read it seems like Sundays are not a good day to be hitting a lot of the places recommended here. Unfortunately Sunday seems like the best day for me in terms of schedule, although I might be able to get away on Saturday. Any recommendations for places / timings if I do have to go on Sunday, so I can make best of the situation?

2. I haven't seen a lot of reports on Yogyakarta in the "Other Areas" thread. Any suggestions for places there or links to FR's?

Guys, there are dozens of bars, each bar has dozens of mama sans and each mama san may have dozens of girls. All of which change on a daily basis. Just go there and choose and enjoy. And one persons experience with a girl or mama or bar can be totally different than someone else. Its like sports. If every play and outcome is predictable what's the point in playing? The fun is in the discovery. While chasing another mongers experience you are missing your own amazing ones.

Guys seem to be overthinking Classic and all other bars in Jakarta. If you see a girl, approach her and ask her who her mamasan is. She will happily point out who her mama is. Doesn't matter where the girls are sitting. If she doesn't want you she will say she's busy. If she really was busy guaranteed she will remember your face and come back to you after she's done.

In my experience, each ATM (even from the same bank) can be different in terms of the maximum withdrawal limit and the denominations of bills it has. 50 K /100 K.

It's basically a crap shoot everywhere you go. Unless you have a regular rotation of known ATMs that you use.
