also bear in mind that it costs most mongers a lot of money to get here - the only reason they come is that the pussy is much cheaper than 'back home'. driving up the prices takes away the value proposition of the deal for most people.
following on from this point i'll add that frequent visitors or expats living here tend to think in pesos or to put it another way they think in terms of prices relative to local wages/living costs. when i see guys spending profligate sums of money on pussy here i'm disturbed because it's distorting the market badly.
i've known really nice providers who got on the game in burgos and thay changed from warm gfe girls to cold hard money driven hookers just like in the developed world. is this what you want? if guys want to spend $5,000 - $10,000 a night on a woman let them go to vegas or somewhere like that i say. just my 2 centavos :)

You need to do a little reading but to sumarise, if you marry a Filippina citizen you are afforded 'The Balikbayan Privilege' by Philippines immigration. You may enter & stay without a visa for up to a year at a time.
As other have said, a less drastic solution is to get another page in your passport at your embassy & then go to the Phils Immigration ( or thru a travel agent) & get your tourist visa extended.
The comment about long pants in government offices is fact. Its a cultural faux par for an adult male to go around in public in shorts & sandals. You wanna look like a bottom of the social strata trike driver, expect to be treated like one... ;)

I’ve never cared much about social status and I avoid government offices and government officials in all countries like the plague, so I guess trike driver status is ok with me… ;)

I do not want to add fuel to the fire, but I frequently see expats walking around Davao who dress like they've just finished rummaging blindfolded through a bin of Salvation Army castoffs. These guys could not walk into a decent hotel or restaurant in the States or Europe and when they do patronize more upscale establishments here, most people--expats and filipinos alike--look at them with some distaste. I would think that self-respect alone would be sufficient reason not to dress like a panhandler.

How you dress probably makes no difference in the P4P scene, but trying to interest "normal," middle class women, at least in Davao, would be difficult if dressed in unpressed shorts, a ratty tee shirt and rubber flipflops if only because the ladies would assume that you're from a lower social stratum than they are.

There is no need for flash designer clothes but a reasonable standard of dress will always attract a reasonable standard of partner too.

As I am sitting here getting ready to iron a shirt and pants that I will wear with coat and tie and Florsheim Imperials to work today, I will be one of the better dressed men that a woman will encounter during the day. However, I look forward to my next trip where I may not even wear long pants or shoes for two weeks or so. A tastful "Caribbean" shirt, clean unwrinkled shorts, Mall of Asia flip flops and a baseball hat are my usual and customary attire anywhere in the Philippines. Clean shaven with after shave are mandatory for me as are my 100 peso "designer" shades.

I can state with certainty that on the last two trips, I did not wear long pants although I always bring a couple of pairs with me "just in case" along with a couple of Ralph Lauren polo shirts, a pair of topsiders and a couple pairs of socks. Come to my office and you will see that I have papers on the wall that prove I am somebody. I feel no need to prove that when I am on vacation. Seems it would only make me a bigger target.

Ah, but see Puerto, if you were here in the Philippines, you could be watching your house helper iron it for you. Just kidding of course, and maybe I'm overly concerned with appearances, especially since I think I've actually worn a suit and tie maybe twice in the past two years.

I have no objection to shorts, though I never wear them, and I fully understand guys who have to "dress up" every day wanting to "dress down" while on holiday. I guess I was just over-reacting to the true ragamuffins I see walking around Davao, beer bellies bulging over what used to be the waist in their shorts, who honestly believe that on arrival in the Philippines, they've become irresistible to the female species.

There is a thread in the photo gallery about data recovery. This has been an ongoing issue for me because I do some video production and I have (5) 300+ gb hard drives in my computer. I lost (1) about 2 years ago and my tech charged me $400 to recover the data.

Two months ago I subscribed to an online backup service called Carbonite.

This past weekend I lost my G: drive and 250 gb of info. I installed a new drive today and used the recover mode of carbonite. At this point it is still downloading, but I am able to access a huge number of "lost" files on the new hard drive.

My early estimation is this is “an out of the park homerun” for the $50 invested.

Yes, that's $50 a year for unlimited data storage.

It operates quietly in the background and when i had to restore the files it was as simple & user friendly as it could be.

Highly recommend.

The files are updating as expected. However, the process is slow. I have 200 gb of lost data to restore and the support staff estimated that it may take a week. Still the best and cheapest option I am aware of.

However I don't think wearing nice shorts[i][b] "around town"[/b][/i] constitutes [i][b]"Dressing like a slob" [/b][/i] and I really don't care what impression you draw from it, but again each to his own.

Wearing shorts is ABSOLUTELY CONSIDERED LOW CLASS in Manila in particular, and upper class people will look down at you for doing it. Yes low class locals do it too, but you do not want a pretty young thing to view you as the Kano equivalent of a pedicab driver.

They won't say anything, because its not the Filipino way, but they will think it. I do it at times too, and am not criticizing others who wear shorts as with the climate it makes perfect sense. But it IS a faux pas if you want people to respect you. This is particularly true when you are interacting with nonpros, including girls met on the internet. You'll get better service from business too, not just government offices where it is prohibited.

This is NOT unique top the Philippines at all. In fact in wealthy countries dressing down is more tolerated than in developing countries.

IMO Filipinos will usually not "respect" you anyway, extended trouser length or not.

On most occasions one may as well opt for the well ventilated alternative, rather than running around town like a sweaty pig.

Hahahahahaha. I would like to see those "better than me" bastards here during the middle of a Wisconsin winter. They'd have so many clothes on they'd all look like Michelin men. I dress for comfort wherever I am. If somebody doesn't like it, they can lump it. When protocal dictates otherwise, then discretion is the better part of valor but I don't care of what they think of me when I am in metro Manila streets filled with ordinary people, muggers, drunks, thives, hookers, trannies, shabu smokers and otherwise other run of the mill people. If filipinois will not usually "respect" me, it really does not matter as 98% of them will respect my dollars.


I have a closet full of fine suits, shirts, ties and shoes, many of which have not been taken out of the boxes. I went to the office yesterday dressed in shorts, flip flops, a "Caribbean" shirt and a baseball hat, with the top down on my Benz. Maybe those people can teach me something that I don't know. Unless my business or politics dictates otherwise, I will continue taking pleasure in dressing any frigg'n way I want.
