I remember when the government took away their guns and rumor was they got sling shots, but basically they were MIA which was a relief at the time because they were always robbing tourists. My buddy had a rx down there and we left a friend in AB while we grabbed some stuff from the pharmacy. Some druggie started chatting my friend and I told him to ignore and walk. Next thing the cops stopped us, cuffed us, put us in the truck and drove in circles to confuse us but we were under the arches so didn't go far and took the 500+ we had on us to let us go. Total BS but my friend was married with kids and didn't want trouble while there. I lived both in LA and SD. A guy I worked with told me about AB and CC, back then HK wasn't a place to go as it was before the remodel. Lots of guys use to cross back then and a lot of guys wanted to join me when I was in LA but didn't because of that one experience I had with the polica. I prefer lone wolfing and never bring anything (cel, cards, etc) the bandits could use to ransom me to family.

I did see a backpacker on the Trolley she crossed over too and was speaking another language on the phone. Times have changed but honestly it seemed better this trip than in the past but much fewer tourists about.

Going to visit Tijuana in a couple of weeks. First time in 5-6 years. Looking forward to it. Sounds like HK is still the place to be.

A couple of refresher questions:

1. How much is a taxi (in pesos) from the border to HK and back on a Saturday afternoon / night? I assume that walking is not a good idea anymore.

2. The yellow cabs are the one to take, correct?

I still have about $80 in pesos from a previous trip to Puerto Vallarta. Was planning to save some of that for the taxi. They always screw you on the conversion. I assume that the action at HK, as well as the ST room, are paid for in USD, about $80 and $20 respectively?

En el interior de la mochila haba una extremidad inferior, la cual, hasta el momento no ha sido identificada.

I would agree to take Uber as much at possible, but remember in around H. Kong Zone, they there is an underground union and they are not to happy with Uber. During the day there is no issue. At night I would not mess around and get in the first available reasonably priced cab. It is getting more dangerous in the Zone and this trend will continue. As the Border continues to tighten up, the Cartels will become more desperate and will need to find other was to make money.

Be safe, better safe then sorry.

Understand, what I met is you should not be standing around in front of H. Kong or in the Alley late at night, it is just not that safe anymore. You do not want to be standing around for 5-10 minutes, late at night. Better safe then sorry.

I never have a problem getting a Uber at night. But perhaps that's because I typically leave the Zona by 10 pm.

If you have to wait for an UBER ride, stay away from HK's door, taxi stand and people hanging out in front of HK for extra safety. Walk further West from HK and wait near the Ninos Heroes corner would be logical.

UBER cars pick up guys and girls in front of HK's taxi stand throughout the night, no problemos. Don't let these thugs scare you. You have the right to select your ride. Just be willing and ready to fight to protect your rights when someone harass you.

Al lugar arrib la Polica Municipal as como socorristas de Cruz Roja quienes revisaron a LOS lesionados, declarando sin vida a uno en el lugar.

La otra vctima fue trasladada al hospital de emergencia en condiciand crtica.

No se reportaron a personas detenidas con relaciand a LOS hechos.

They were not reported to people detained in relation to the facts.
