Tried this last week on my trip to Shanghai. To be clear, it is the Shanghai Hotel on N. Urumqi Rd (Wulumuqi Lu.) The taxi driver seemed to know immediately where I was going... The other two hotels mentioned in earlier reports are a part of the whole complex, but the Sauna we are interested in is on the second floor of the Shanghai Hotel. Just enter the hotel, walk straight ahead past reception, and then turn left. Take the elevator to the second floor.
Had a 24yo from Sichuan, a 7.5 I'd say, nice girl, but with only one hour it felt like quite a rushed, carefully choreographed act. Wanted to get me off AFAP. I imagine she'd had a difficult customer earlier in the day and was aching a bit on her _sam dian_. Great BJ technique on this one, but no BBBJ on offer. I'd go back and try another girl sometime, the 650 kuai price is pretty reasonable IMHO. Note that they only accept cash.

They have one of the largest pool and shower areas of any place in Shanghai. They've got Skinning Dude tables and plasma TVs on the wall as well.
The relaxing and lounge area is expansive, with each chair containing its own TV with built-in speakers in the padded headrest. They offer all sorts of standard services, including foot massage if you like. Note: If there are NO special services being offered (for whatever reason) they will tell you once you get off the elevator.
They use a server system for the massage. Once you're ready to go, they'll take you to the back. Way in the back. Through the cavernous and endless rooms they seem to have.
Girl will be in the room. If not acceptable, you can ask for a change out. Lots of girls seem to be from North China. Historically, they have presented girls with some of the larger racks I've seen. Looks pretty much like Rio in Macau by the level of the facilities albeit you do not get the parade, but find the jewel :) waiting for you. Had something like this in Taiwan.

Do these hotel saunas require one stay there or could one just walk in straight to the sauna?

Is that the SN in the cluster of hotels near century avenye station? Are you happy with the FS service? I went there last year and was impressive with the facility. Too bad the FS fell short. The actual massage part was great (for 800+RMB) but the rest was forgettable. Have you been to any of the saunas run by the same group? I wasn't impressed at all with them. Cheers
Decided to drop by the area after reading a post about the district a few weeks back. Went for a walk tonight after work at around 7pm and saw the 4-5 BBSes on Wuliqiao Road. East of Jumen Road. Seems they are all closed. Lights were off etc. Not sure if this means they've been raided or they are busy.
As a previous poster mentioned, they close the doors and "lock up" when they have a customer, but this could just be a widespread pre-EXPO effect. Are there any BBSes out there that are open still that you guys are aware of?
