Facts remain facts. Pali may be taught in schools but its not very close to Thai language at all.
Its a fact that Pali is from Indo-Aryan family and Thai is not. I looked up information to confirm that.
As I explained the Pali vowel structure is greatly simpler than Thai and Tones are either not use or not important in Pali.
What "Anti-Indian Tirade". It seems like you are the one launching into a tirade. I work with Indians and one is a close friend. I don't have anything against Indians.
I accepted that Buddhism influences Thai culture. Do you really think Indian Culture is similar to Thai? Thais seem to disagree. Ancient history is not so relevant today.
Yes I totally agree with you that Buddhism influences Thai culture but for you information lord Buddha was Indian. You will find temples of lord Ganesha, Vishnu and Ram in Thailand. I am not an expert but here what I find on Wikipedia. Buddhism is a religion and philosophy indigenous to the Indian subcontinent and encompasses a variety of traditions, beliefs, and practices largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, who is commonly known as the Buddha (meaning "the awakened one" in Sanskrit and P&257; li). The Buddha lived and taught in the eastern part of Indian subcontinent some time between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. [1] He is recognized by Buddhists as an awakened or enlightened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end ignorance (avidy&257, craving (ta&7751; h&257, and suffering (dukkha) , by recognizing dependent origination and sunyata, and attain Nirvana.
No offense but it can't be the NOSE of the farang. Not once have I heard a thai mother or thai father put type of nose as a major positive factor.
It is your nose and skin. Smile and teeth. Most people from the west had braces as children. Girls want a man, they might make a baby with.
In my 30 years of living in America, not one person ever told me they like my eye lashes. Not my mom, grandmother, no one. I never even thought about it myself. But here in Thailand, almost any girl I meet will comment on the length of my eyelashes. They will giggle and say I look like a doll.
I look like a average falang.
You forgot. MaNY thai girls types that marry farang also like the western concept of social security paychecks. Hahahahaha!

Do all of you post in jest or are you guys really serious?
Nose is DEFINITELY a factor. That is fairly common knowledge.
Why you think so many Thai girls have nose jobs?
Dear BKK mates, Its been nearly 4 years I didn't go Bangkok.
I'm from KL and will be visiting BKK in mid June and will be staying at silom.
Any good or popular places for a massage+HJ or FJ?
Or I don't mind going some where out of silom but make sure its easy to reach by cab.
I can remember years ago when some of my thai friends brought me to a place called tarawadee. Is this place still exist?

Tarawadee is still there. The base sideliner price might be higher than it was when you last went. Was it 3700 Baht the last time you visited, that's what it's at now?
Quality still decent as it's out of the way and has a pretty solid client base of business owners and players from that area.

There are a number of shops along lower Silom, past Narathiwas Road. Check between the Pullman Hotel (old Sofitel) and the Narai Hotel. Diamond, Happy and Lisa Massage all have willing practitioners.
There are even a few new "legit" looking massage shops on Patpong 1.
I like to go to "Money Massage." It's in the little shopping complex next to the Thai Airways office on the corner of Silom and Naratiwas. Good prices and clean.
For FS, try Plaza on Patpong 2, Versailles near Wat Hualamphong, Ben Ten on Silom Soi 6, JC on Surawong. Most of the oilies will do FS, too, if you pick the right girl (just ask).
"Oil" massage is almost universal for HJ happy ending, but you might ask just in case. I can't help you with recommendations for FJ? You'll have to ask at the shops about this. ;)
All Upper-Class Thais went to school Overseas so they have been exposed to White skin already.
One common mistake many expats make is that they think they know Thailand and thai people, well, I know only a few expats that know Thais extensively (they speak Thai, Lao, Issan.) and even they would tell you that there is no way for a Farang to be treated / Accepted fully by a Thai Family.
As far as I am concerned, I don't give a shit about all that. I have money, I am happy with my job and my life here, that's all that matters.
Correct. There is no assimilation here. That one of the things that separates Thailand from the West.
As far as education is concerned many upper class Thais go to school overseas and it has a positive effect on a FEW of them. Many, even when overseas, hang out with TThais only and never attempt much exploration of another culture. This tends not to be true with the kids educated in an International School here. They are taught in English and tend to be far more switched on. Some of them don't want to return to Thailand after Uni in the West as they like not being constrained by their rigid social system and their parents.

No different from anywhere else in the world really. No matter who you marry back home your family will never really think of them as being as much a part of the family as you are. Sure they will be nice and cordial with your spouse but that's just good manners basically. If the marriage ends very seldom would contact with the family continue unless there were kids involved.
A lot of people have skewed views on this subject because most of them only come in contact with marriages between foreigners and Thai women who are half their age. Of course the Thai family will never fully accept that. Because on one hand they don't want their daughters to be stuck in a relationship with someone twice their age and possibly uniformed about Thai culture/language however, they tolerate it because they do want their daughter (and them) to be well taken care of.
All Upper-Class Thais went to school Overseas so they have been exposed to White skin already.
Any Thais that live around or have been to an area with tourist have been exposed to white skin. It's really a myth that if you are white you are automatically more attractive to Thais. Sure there are some differences that Thais notice and may like. Eye color is a big one. But don't think that if you are white with blue or green eyes that it will automatically place you in the "most attractive males" category. People are full packages so if you have those sparkling azure eyes but you weigh about 150kg on a 170cm frame then girls will most likely comment on your eyes because that's the only thing they find attractive about you.
There are definitely Thai women that prefer foreigners just as there are westerners that prefer Asian women but, it's not a given.
I think all that was well said and I mostly agree, particular with the last part. I would just add the, perhaps minor point, that at least in my experience (and if I understand you correctly, you would not be in a position to easily confirm this) , as a whitey you do more or less automatically move up a notch on the 1 to 10 looks scale from some (but far from all) women's point of view. A considerable amount of women here are attracted to white skin and western style noses, which gives guys like me a slight bonus in the meeting game here in Thailand, while that is no bonus to me where I come from, as the majority of men have those features.
I can comment as I work in quite a mixed environment and go out with friends of all shapes, sizes, colors and nationalities. You do move up but not necessarily on the looks scale. You move up because prosperous western countries are predominately white. So some Thais will automatically assume that you are also prosperous and therefore deserve a higher spot on the "worthy mate" scale.

Different girls like different things.
There are definitely Thai women that prefer foreigners just as there are westerners that prefer Asian women but, it's not a given.
I think Thai girls always like their own kind first. Until they get burned and change to liking Foreigners, thinking they will be better than Thai guys. Nothing to do with skin color, eye color or dick size here.
There are definitely Thai women that prefer foreigners just as there are westerners that prefer Asian women but, it's not a given.
And of course on this forum, there will be a majority of members that favour Asian women of the flat-nosed, tanned-skin, smaller frame variety. On the other hand; the women we meet and discuss here, will most likely have a bias for farang (for all the well known good and wrong reasons: looks, position, perceived wealth, manners, ...). But just as "Asian lovers" are a minority in our world, "farang lovers" will be a minority in Thailand.
Saying that Thai women will -given the chance- always prefer Thai men, is as wrong as claiming that all the Members of this forum have chosen Thai girls as a poor "second choice" because none of us can get a Western woman.
