Does anyone know if the crackdown is affecting outcall stuff? Also, what has been happening at Itaewon?
Ranco,
So you saying you visited this place yesterday and got serviced even though this crackdown is going on?
FYI. Due to the crackdown all RLDS, anmas, barbershops have closed in order not to be caught and charged. I suspect, there are a few shops still open in the shade but if you go there it is too risky so my advice is not to go. The best possible service is outcall service called chool-jang anma in korean and it is quite expensive (about 200,000 or even more depends on how much the girl want) but this is also a little bit risky. About 15 days ago, the pimp who had many girls for outcall service had been caught and sued for loutlawing of prostitution and the police got her customers name and phone number list becuase she had recorded the information and all other pimps do it because they need to make a contact if needed when you asked for service.
The safest way is to go to a luxious disco such as hotel disco(in kangnam there are few famous disco such as juliana, boss, mool, and etc) and for 4 people with room in a dicso, 2 bottles of whisky, side dishes, beers , and beverages you need to pay around 600,000 but almost girls are gergeous looking and few of them speak good english. Rumour has it, the prostitutes have moved to disco.
What? There's a crackdown? The only crackdown I saw was the crack down the girl's ass at O2.
There are so many of these massage parlors, it's really hard to enforce the law everywhere. But remember, you're still taking a chance so you need to be careful.
I was going to post this yesterday, but I didn't get a chance.
The day after visiting O2, I ventured into Miari. Had a great time. Didn't get busted. As you all know, there is a ban in effect. About 95% of the shops in Miari are closed. The 5% which are still open equates to about 2 dozen shops still open for business. Some of the shops are just blatant or oblivious of the ban and are doing business like it's 1994. Some shops are very cloak and dagger with closed curtains and secret knocks on side doors.
Since most people know how to get to Miari, I won't go into the directions. Take the Police exit at the Gireum station. When you're walking down the main street look for the funny blue tarp curtains. You'll see one every couple blocks. Enter through the blue curtains.
If you go at night, there will be almost no light - no shop lights, traffic lights, or corner lights since the ban is in effect. Almost no light whatsoever except for the shops which are still open. There is a serious danger of falling or tripping while walking through the alleys. Allow yourself a couple minutes for your eyes to adjust. If you have poor night vision, I would not recommend visiting Miari at night. You might have to visit during the day.
Although there's the danger of falling and hurting yourself, I don't think there is much danger in getting robbed, or jacked in the dark alleys. I saw a couple old people sitting around. I didnt see any others walking about. When I first walked into Miari, I seriously thought this would be a perfect place to get robbed, but I didn't run into any other people. Plus it would be hard for robbers to operate with the police patrols (more on this later).
My recommendation is to walk around like a tourist who's taking a shortcut through Miari. It's not a crime to walk through a RLD. Then make some mental notes as to which shops you want to visit. Then make another loop or double back to make sure you're not followed. A mamasan told me there are a couple undercover cops patrolling the area. So if you run into another person, he's probably an undercover cop. If you're followed by someone, assume he's a cop and calmly try to loose him through the many side alleys. After you're sure you're not followed or being watched, make your way to the shop you want to visit and walk in. That's where the mental notes come in handy.
I have another approach for entering. Mill around a bit in front of the shop you want to visit and show a little interest in the girls and start walking away slowly. A mamasan will probably walk out after you and mutter under earshot if you're interested in something. Pull over to a side alley and ask the usual questions; who's working, how many girls are working, how much.... If you're happy with her answers, ask if their shop has a side entrance or ask how you can get into the shop without detection. Tell her you don't want to get caught by the police and that you want to make sure there's no one around. Then she'll discreetly lead you to the side or rear entrance. I think most shops have 2-3 exits. Or tell her you'll wait by a door and she can let you in.
Good luck and be careful!

So you saying you visited this place yesterday and got serviced even though this crackdown is going on?
Just to let you know, YES the raids are serious and YES it can happen to you.
I went to visit my buddies in FRIENDS during the week to catch up as it had been a while since my last visit. I noticed they had taken down the sign from the outside, so it is even less obtrusive now, almost hard to see. Just a simple white sign leading downstairs saying "Friends: stress clinic". I didn't have any intention of being serviced. When I got there they told me that they had been closed for 2 weeks.
Now when I walked in, I didn't notice anything strange outside. But, not 10 minutes after I sat down, a group of 4 serious looking men and a real bitchy looking lady suddenly barged in and started walking through the place. They searched all the rooms for any "morally corrupt behavior". They pointed to me and asked "who's this?" The owner said "chingoo" (friend) which seemed to be satisfactory. A minute later (after finding no girls or customers) they left the building.
My suspicion is that a scout saw me enter and tipped off the police. Given that the place is so obscure and had not had a raid up until that point it seems like more than a coincidence. Stupid pricks. Anyway, it was enough to remind me that there is definitely some merit in taking precautions. Now I'm thinking.. what if my sweet little masseuse was there and I couldn't resist her delicate hands...? well perhaps my ass would be getting hauled back home. Thankfully I'm still here.
Incidentally, FRIENDs has reopened with massage-only no handjob service. How long this lasts is anyone's guess...
As Gonad Man mentioned, this crackdown is serioius, if you get caught!. Especially they just approved of a law so that if somebody witnesses prostitution or know of the "Pimp" or whoever's in charge, they can go to police with the evidence and they get handsome reward or something. Not to mentione jail time and fine for the pimps and his associates, and customers. I have heard and seen people walking around RLD and other shady areas just for that reward. So better watch out for these suckers. so if you see anyone suspicious walking around, you might wanna watch out.
Safe Hunting fellas
Hey Gonad Man,
Maybe the English speaking police read this forum and are apalled at it's arrogance (in their point of view).
Like a prize, stake out one of this forum's favorites, wait for a foreigner to go in, then raid the place and send the foreigner (and member of this forum) home.
It would be naive to think the the "world sex guide" is unknown to "Korea's finest." And something tells me they're not too fond of it.
Last month, my Korean friends and I went to our favorite local massage in Kangnamgu the night before the date of shut down for one last pop and was told by the manager they already stopped the special massages and we were welcome to do the sauna thing without the beautiful ladies. We just walked out. Several hours later, many massage places were raided and people arrested. We haven't been back to any massage places since...
This past week I have been really enjoying the Bangkok massages far away from Korea...
"Incidentally, FRIENDs has reopened with massage-only no handjob service. How long this lasts is anyone's guess..."
Gonad Man
Thanks for the write up Gonad man, I wish I'd read it before I went there this afternoon Y.Y
50,000 won for a very sweet massage with Hyun-joo, but jeez, now I got a hard-on like crowbar and no place to go. I'm gonna miss that place.
Drove by Yongsan RLD last night, the lights were on but no one was at home but a platoon of Cops in full force, they were everywhere. It's depressing what they have done to this place, it used to be so full of energy and life, I did not see not even one girl, it doesn't look good for Mongers right now.
In and Out Massage in Itaewon was open, but I didn't bother to go in as this place is probably being monitored closely too. Aroma Therapy is doing big business, stopped by there on Friday and they were full, the girl that did serviced me said that she was tired because it was very busy all night. This place never offered any extras even before the crack-down (at least not to me) but the Massage Service is excellent and the girls are usually young and fresh looking.
Kim's Massage has modify their menu, no more Colon Massages, and I did see a Russian looking girl on there last week, don't know if she is an employee or not. The Out-call Massage Services in the local papers are still available if you want to pay, word to the wise, pay with cash and leave your Credit Cards in your wallets. This can't be the end, can it?

No excuse! Ho Man posted the same information as Gonad Man two days earlier!
Hey guys,
I am very disappointed to hear about the crack down. It is ironic that the western governments through the UN are pressuring the Korean government to ban prostitution when it is legal in the US (State of Nevada), Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, etc.
The new law calls for the shutdown of *****houses by 2007, but the government is trying to wipe them out without now. Read more about the crackdown if you’re not in Korea right now at:

I was in Seoul, Pusan and Pohang few weeks ago and enjoyed the sports massage places and few Karaoke places. The Karaoke places are too expensive but the quality is superb, but you have to go with a Korea or you have to speak good Korea to get good treatment. I know that this true especially outside Seoul.
Are all the sports massage places (some are barber shops) in all of Seoul closed? Or are there some in outside Seoul that maybe open.
I heard the crack down will end on 10/22, I will be there a week later so I hope that things are better by that time. Have you heard any thing about cracking down on other activities such as escorts or massage outcall?
Happy hunting and be careful out there, if this continues, it will be like the escorts scene at major cities in the US.
Jimmy
The crackdown is of limited effect. Room salons in Bukchang-dong seem to be sucking cock with the usual aplomb, although "Round 2" appears to be off the menu.
I was on a mission today to put the F in FinkL, but what a bust. After taking a long ass subway ride, and 4 hours of walking, no freakin luck. Out of desperation, I finally had to hail a taxi to take me to the place. When I got there, the lights were off, the doors were locked, and even the barber poles weren't spinning. I think they've been shut down for good.
Whoever said FinkL is just an easy walk from Starbucks didn't mention there are now 6-7 Starbucks in the neighborhood. The only thing that's an easy walk from the Starbucks an Gangnam station is another Starbucks. Let me clarify for people who want to visit this place for sentimental or historic reasons, since it looks like it's shut for good, it's located on the corner closest to the Amiga hotel. Easy as that. Can people start using more prominent landmarks like hotels and buildings instead of stores and signs?
The trip wasn't a complete waste. While I was walking around, I got a chance to visit some Spa's and Anma's in the neighborhood to ask for directions and to take a [CodeWord140]. Around the Ritz, the shops are still open, but understaffed; only a handful of girls still working. There were a couple nice places that wanted 160000 - 180000W. I asked one manager why he charged so much and he said it's because you get nice gifts after your visit - like people are looking for parting gifts after sex. Then there were the cheap side alley spa's that wanted 100000W. A girl that worked at one spa was so ugly, I wouldn't let her wash my car let alone my ass.
So after a frustrating day in search of FinkL, I headed up to 588. I didn't want to waste a perfectly good erection. Talk about a bad day. Everything was closed. Not just closed, shops are padlocked from the outside. At least there were street lights to keep me from tripping, unlike Miari.
Can people PM me with some suggestions for places to visit?
Very very sad, I had to go for a walk to Yongsan to take something back to the Electronics Mart.
I decide to walk through the RLD, admittedly it was 4.30pm on a Monday, however there was not ONE single girl in the booths.
I curse the morality police. Who does this hurt? The girls or the men? I am saying the girls mostly. Where else are they gonna go to pay off their huge credit card debt?? Earning 5k an hour at some crappy job.
Man this whole ban thing is gonna ruin their economy. They say that the sex trade accounts for 4.9% of the GDP of Korea.
But I am no way risking it with this whole ban thing!
I was reading in Stars and Stripes about the Bar girls saying they welcome the ban but they are complaining about the lack of clientele. Sucked in to them. No lay, no pay. Who really wants to waste money on girls just to buy them drinks and not get laid. Pfft. Girls live in a dream world!
