Yes, I think quite a few people feel like that. Only reason to go is the honey... but the whole process is not something i enjoy myself either.

If you are not in to that scene, then I would suggest you be brave, go in and collect several numbers. Then you will build a list of contacts that you can call to your place.

Saves you the trouble of going there every time to pick up.

I agree with Cons68...am a shy guy myself and dont like the smoke so am nervous about going to those places and chatting up the honey.....must be my conservative nature ;)

i had been promising myself a trip to savour the abu dhabi nightlife and finally got around to it this week. to save the hassle of traipsing from hotel to hotel i decided to check the rates for the dana hotel so i could test out the 49ers bar. checked a few sites and rates were coming out at over dhs 1,000 for a room. checked on booking.com and room was dhs 260++. much better so i hurriedly booked for the next night which was sunday just gone.

arrived after work and found the place easily but parking is a massive problem. squeezed the car into the smallest space imaginable in the public car park adjacent to the hotel and crawled out of one of the back doors as that was the only door i could open. no hassle checking in and into the room for a few hours sleep. traffic noise is pretty awful in the room which caused a slight problem when i called the missus as i had to try and explain the noise of all the cars honking as coming from the tv!

got to 9.30 so i hit the ground floor pub. a few girls in there including some ropey ethiopians. 1 drink later i was heading up to 49ers as i wasn't impressed with the pub.

I've been a bit of a lurker but not really got much of the action.

Er indoors has been packed off back home, so really looking to find some discrete action. I've heard all about the great AMP's in Dubai but nothing similar in AD.

I've read the forums and there is nothing in the forums except for Hilton. However starting price is AED 280! Anyone know of any places in AD or will I have to take the drive to Dubai for the weekend?

I quite like the idea of going to an MP rather than take home.

I've recently arrived in AD after spending a year and a half in the mongering desert of Libya. Before Libya, I'd spent many years in the monger heaven of Lagos.

I started off at around 8pm at the bar at the Novotel. Nothing apart from a couple of white 50's pick-ups, lonely wives in need of a rodgering rather than sport types, decent enough if that's what floats your boat, but not mine.

Moving on to the bar at Sand's hotel on Electra - nothing at all, although the Filippina chick behind the bar was a reasonable 6/10 and probably in need of further investigation.

I then headed to the Rotana Beach hotel, with Captain's in mind, but my hunger got the better of me and I enjoyed an excellent steak at the Grill restaurant. One of the servers was a petite (size 6) black chick wearing a set of the wierd coloured contacts. Despite my efforts she didn't seem remotely interested in any more than doing her job, but I would love to pin this little honey to the bed!

I then headed across the road to my final destination at 49ers at the Dana hotel. What a disappointment! This place had been hyped up to me as being a sleazy monger nirvana and I was expecting good things here.

First off, a 60 AED entrance charge - which is redeemable against a drink. The place was pretty full, no music (Ramadan rules?) and very, very smoky. I'm a smoker myself, but I found the lack of adequate ventilation very uncomfortable.

The standard of the girls was also very disappointing, the majority were PRC's ranging from 2/10 to 5/10, but then I've never really been taken with east asians - but what really scared me was the silly money they were asking, ranging from 800 up to over 2,000 AED! Even a couple of very scraggy looking 3/10 Ethiopian/Somalis wanted 1,000 each for a take home double act. I appreciate that Abu Dhabi is a league above Port Harcourt or Douala on the economic scale, but the shagging rates quoted by the girls here is more on a par with London!

Am I missing something? Or perhaps I'd be better off inviting a few friends from West Africa....
