Im over in Rio right now. I've made around 20+ trips here and always stay in Copacabanna. Get yourself an apartment around the Miguel Lemos/Rua Djalma Ulrich area if you want to be in the middle of the action. Termas Loumo/Monte Carlo are short walk , HELP is here (only for a short time more), beach is right across the street, Terracco Atlantico and Meia Pataca are cool day time Mongering places during day as well. Av N. Copacabanna is right up the block and has bars, kilos, restaurants of your choice. Post office, Cartorios and Banks are all here.
