I posted about my stay there on the forum. Plenty of vermin. A bit stuffy. Otherwise not too terrible. Mirrors in the room. Not cheap, considering you're paying for the vermin too ;-)

Are you interested in 'Safe' with regard to security of the Scooter etc whilst parked, or the 'Safety' of driving on the roads??
I have rented scooters and larger bikes with no problem whatsoever. The main thing is you hire a reasonably good one from a reputable (if there is one!!) hirer.
The bike must have a good Steering Lock and an under saddle compartment for bags/helmet etc.
As for security when parked - I have never had any problems, there are millions of scooters, and with a decent one with locks as described, there should be no issues at all.
As for safety on the roads - Yes agreed, it is madness and the Thais drive like lunatics, however there are relatively few accidents given the sheer number of bikes in such small areas. I have been seen plenty of 'near misses' and had quite a few myself, however if you go with the flow, take it easy, then no problem.
In fact renting a bike to get out and about is one of the highlights of my trips to LOS - there are many others too :)

I was there last night as well, and I think it will be my last time. The girl I chose was very cute with a fabulous body, and no kids. But from the minute we walked into the room, all she would talk about is that I should barfine her for the night. She wanted me to pay 2,800 baht to the papasan, so then we could go out drinking and dancing and boomboom all night. When I told her I'd consider it for the next night, she just wouldn't shut up talking about it. It took all of the fun and excitement out ot the current session. I couldn't enjoy myself because I couldn't get her to shut up and do what I had just paid 1,700 baht for!!!
I finally got a half hearted CBJ for about 15 seconds before she laid down flat on her back for boomboom. The most mechanical session I've ever had. When I finally finished, I had been with her in the room for no more than 40 minutes, and she started pushing me for a tip because business is so slow. When I told her no tip, she kept saying "you joke?" No, I'm not joking. I don't reward poor performance by tipping.
When I left the place there wasn't even one other customer in the place. But because business is slow, they should be trying extra hard to please the few customers that they do have rather than try to shake tips out of them for poor service.
Seems the girls at the regular massage parlors are getting the message, though. I've gone back to 5 different parlors that I tried on my last trip where I could only get a legitimate massage. I was actually looking for a legitimate massage to take care of some sore muscles after working out at Tony's gym. This trip each of them are offering all of the extras at great prices. I've had happy endings for 300 baht, BBBJ for 500, and full service for 600. All in all, a better value and better overall experience than the soapies. At least you get a decent massage out of the deal.

I need voice and data so it must be very reliable and fast.
Scooters are safe to rent. Driving them is up to you. There are about 10 billion scooters there and the likelyhood of a crappy rental getting stolen is pretty low. Driving them is another story. If you stay to the side and go slow you are fine. If you try to weave throughout and keep up with the locals you will kill yourself on those damn buses.

what is very fast? i can’t recall ever having problems with internet speed in pattaya. there's an internet shop on beach road near soi 10 (by subway restaurant) with some new computers and very reliable service but the same could be said of many other places in town.

Press Conference announces arrest of motorbike thieves
On Monday afternoon Police Colonel Somnuk, the chief of Banglamung station, called a press conference to announce the arrest of three Thai males on charges of taking motorbikes that didn't belong to them and selling them onto an agent in Cambodia. The leader of the gang, aged 50, and his senior accomplice, aged 29, were paraded before the assembled media along with a selection of motorbikes they had stolen in recent times. A 17-year-old youth, also apprehended with the other two, was left in the cells. Police said the gang stole motorbikes to order from an agent in Cambodia. This agent would send a shopping list and the trio would trek off in search of the required make, colour and model. They were caught by alert police who became suspicious when they saw two of the arrestees riding a motorbike without a number plate. Police pulled them over and asked the pair to provide details of the provenance of the bike. This was not forthcoming and under interrogation they admitted to being common bike thieves

Bamboo...Boo Not a misprint. Brand new parlor on 2nd road right across from the Avenue and Dusit D2 hotel. The reason for the funny name is that it's owned by a relative of the folks that own Bamboo on Pattaya South Road right off Walking street, and they had to use a slightly different name. Their prices are also a few baht cheaper to get their business on track 180 for foot massage or thai massage, and 280 for oil massage. Clean and new. Nice. 500 for 2 hour oil massage, and 500 extra for HE. What a GREAT 2 hour experience for under $30 USD.
Utopia Massage on 2nd road about a block or 2 south of Pattaya South Road. The best looking group of girls I've ever seen at a massage parlor. They all seem to be from near the Laos border, and they're taller and thinner than most of the other girls in town. Regular prices prevail. I had a 1 hour foot massage, and a 2 hour oil massage for 800 baht and a HE for 500 baht more. 3 hours of pure relaxation for 1300 baht. Not bad for under $36 USD. In Las Vegas, a 40 minute half assed attempt at a massage and HE is $120.

There are dozens of internet cafes all over, and most hotels have business centers. They're fast, reliable, and very cheap. I left my laptop home this time because these cafes are great. I'm at one now, and it's as fast as my connection at home. 1 baht/minute which is about $1.67 USD per hour. Not worth the hassle of carrying a laptop.

Extremely unlikely. If you are concerned about that make a point to rent an old one and if possible not a Honda. Theives will only be interested in Hondas or the newest motorbikes. You can get old beaters for 100 baht/day.

Almost all Soi Honey girls will do FS for 500.

I don't think Jackson will be providing any updates on the Captain any time soon but he is well. I don't know Ayi as her prices were always out of my range. I did meet her a couple of times. PM me if you like but I don't check in too often.
