Thanks.[/QUOTE]The best rates I've seen were cambios on Ave. Madero from roughly calle 10 until La Torre (The Tower) on Blvd. Aguas Caliente. There are two decent ones on Ave Revolucion next to the swap meet. Roughly calle 10-12 that offer a decent rate. Generally I wouldn't exchange in the centro but that's just me. Make sure to look for NO FEE cambios. One place gave me a great rate but then charged me a fee. I wasn't paying attention.

The last time I was down I noticed a significant spread between the atm rate and that offered at the casas de cambio. On Thursday for example the best rate I saw at a casa de cambio was 12. 75 while the atm was dispensing pesos at 13. 6. There's a Scotia bank atm next to Adelita bar.
Wow just checked out the exchange it's almost at 14, the US dollar is strengthening for some odd reason. Maybe with all the problems in Europe people are starting to think that the US dollar is number 1 again. If things keep going in the same direction it could be a very good year for mongering across the world, well at least if you're getting paid in US currency.

It is up again also across the board right now in a big way. Maybe I will finally be able to afford Brazil again? Also strong USD typically means lower fuel prices, making it cheaper to trot around the globe. Yes it's a great time to be sitting on USD.

I am a firm believer to pay whatever you will. For me the highest going rate for a BG in Tijuana is $60, and with hundreds of choices, that is the most I will pay. I just was in town with a friend and he got a BG to come back to his room after her shift for $60. He also got a TLN later that night for $70.
Just because you pay more does not mean that you will have a better session, in fact it is probably most often the opposite.
