Just a note that these carriers only fly to Phuket from the (old airport) Don Meaung.

For complicated reasons I would like to use an escort agency in Phuket (my situation makes it difficult to pick up a girl in a bar or a club). Can anyone recommend a reliable agency in Phuket?

I have travelled to Thailand before. In Bangkok stayed in Sukhumvit and in Pattaya near beach road. The actions were near and I didn't have any problem in the streets, bars or in the hotel. This time I want to try out Pukhet. I have been reading the posts and it is overwhelming. Mainly because I think Pukhet is so big and also for the taxi mafia thing I had been reading about. I am not a go-go or disco type guy but more of a freelancer enthusistic.

What would be my best options if I want to relax in a quite area near the beach staying in a GF hotel in a 1000 baht to 1400 baht price range GF hotel?

I've stayed several times at the Aloha villa in Patong. Not right on the beach but a 5 minute walk. Very clean and great staff, guest friendly and should be great rates this time of year. iIthink around 1800-2000 baht per night during the HIGH season, but much lower off season.

It's just a few minutes walk to Bangla road and all the entertainment.

I booked 2 nites at the summer breeze hotel near Bangla Road in Patong. Can anyone suggest a cheap/ easy way of transportation from the Airport to the Hotel?

The Hotel quoted me 600 baht for the transfer...

Rent a car at the airport - I use David car rental and get a decent car for THB 900/day all inclusive or you can get one of those jalopies for a couple hundred or so less.

Most of the hotel charge this amount.

When leaving the airport (going outside) turn to the right and you will see a hut which is the taxi meter office. Sorry I cannot remember the price around 400 bht one way.

Minibus. 150 baht per trip.

I have heard of problems using the mini bus like

Having to wait until at the airport until the bus is full
Taking you to a travel agent to con you into changing your hotel etc
You could end up being the last drop off .

Yes it is cheap but I think the taxi is a quicker option.

I still think you should get yourself a car rental as not only will you save the Airport/Hotel/Airport taxi, you will also save lots of bahts not having to rely on those notorious amd obnoxious taxis/mototaxis etc.

And if you're a free lancer enthusiast, then I think you'd need to cast your net over a wider area than just Patpong. Patpong is basically ALL GoGo or Discos and free lancers I'd guess would be limited to those on the way to or getting off work at these discos/gogo's.

As you say, Phuket is quite large and to go anywehre else besides the li'l hamlet that Patpong is actually, you'd need wheels!

Ps. And yes, what ThaiLearner says about the minibus is quite true - they looooooove stopping off at their "I pat your back you pat mine" trinket shop to relieve the arriving passengers of having to carry too much money! and will delay delay delay.
PPs - and NO, I don;t have any interest - financial or otherwise - in David Car rental - I just happen to think that he gives a fair deal and I don't mind helping him out by advising those here who do need to hire a car.

I've been following the thread for awhile but there never seems to be any recommendations of bars where the girls have a good attitide, look good, the bar is a good place to be, etc ... does anyone have anything to offer as I'll be in Patong in a few weeks and would like to enjoy every minute =:O)

TL is absolutely right. Do not take the minibus. A taxi from the taxi hut will cost 400B (cost meter plus 50B airport tax). It will be the best 250B you spend!

I am in Phuket now. It seems the beautifull girls are in the bar. You may look from outside as it can be seen from outside though beautifull girls seem to arrive after 11 pm. Of course I am talking about the bars at different Sois from Bangla Road. Try the inside bars not the outside facing the road.
As for attitude, you have to try that out to find out yourself.
