I have also awoken with the the deep regret of having spent a bundle and not had a proportionally great time. My own strategy at such a moment was to console myself with the notion that I had done my duty as a consumer and stimulated the economy. At least you went for the €150 bottle of Champers and didn't double the bill with a €1200 bottle.
