I am in vedado. Or Nuevo vedado. Been doing my homework and reading up on these boards, but still not much luck.

I think all the talk about Cuba being a difficult mongering place is very true. This is my first time here but got the feeling that things are changing by the day. A friend of mine was here two yeards ago who speak less spanish than me and is worse looking and he was swimming in pussy.

Now it seems dead. Girls on the street are scared. Dont even look. Only places I can find girls who are willing are at the nightclubs. They are very pro but some are good looking.

Will try to see if I can find some of those areas you mention. I am still waiting for a car since Cuba has no rental cars available at all! Crazy place this is.

No rental cars ? It is high season, but try a propina to see if there are still no cars.

It's true about the rental cars. My local guide friend who arranges rentals with all companies has told me that rental cars are booked up all through July and August. This is how it works in a socialist country where supply and demand does not always go hand in hand.

I'll also give you the number to a guy who will take you around in his old yellow Buick looking for chicas for 4-5 CUC/hour.

Is the situation really that bad right now? Anybody else in Havana who can confirm?

If he goes to San Miguel he will be alright. He will have all of the bollos he wants. There is also San Joses de Las Lajas or Guines. Either of these towns on the outskirts of Havana will get him great pussy action.

PS the car reantal situation is bad. But PM me and I will give you the name of the guy I used in Cuba for Car Rental. He is pretty high up in the food chain and he will be able to get you something. Also what Beer say offer a bride. I can get problably get you a car at Rex with my contacts there, but you will be renting one of the most expensive cars in Cuba. I always rent from Rex when I go. I just put my reservation in for August and i will have my car wating for me in Holguin. Let me know how we can help you.

Senor Canned the best advice I could give you for picking up really hot women is the Cabaret Nacional it is a small dingy disco next to hotel inglaterra baween (border) Centro Habana and Habana Vieja. You will not go wrong in there my friend! The choices are endless! Negritas, Mulatas, y blancas are all available. This disco attracts pros and semi- pros with a smattering of regular girls, Please don't pay more than $ 30 but on a slow night you could get laid for $20. Entrance fee for foreigners is $ 5 don't pay more and insist that you are going to pay $5 as these doormen will take you for a ride. Once you say that you are paying $5 they usually just chill smile and wave you on inside. Cervezas (beer) are $1. 50 $1 everywhere else but still cheap so I had no complaints. The key in this place is to look like a "foreigner" notice that I did not say tourist? The girls will be on to you like white on rice but the golden rule is never be the one to ask them to go home with you play it cool but look intereted if you seem too eager that tells the girls alot and it will drive up the price! Always stay in control. The girls will normally follow you outside afer you have exitecand secured a taxi (hope your spanish is decent) once you have decided to take one of them home (always avoid price talk until you get her home) the best time to strike is usually around 11:30 you use an hour to scope out the talent and you strike round about 12:30 the club closes at 2 am so usually they get desperate round about this time. I must tell you that I have been to Cuba many times and without a doubt I have seen the most beautiful and sexy girl in my opinion in all of Cuba, I have been in all the provinces except guantanamo and santiago. This young lady was blond and had the perfect body and face definately a 10! She wore high heels and leopard skin baby doll dress. But that is legal according to Cuban law, for an American it would be very illegal to engage in such a transaction. Buy in Costa Rica if you can make sure you don't get scammed, same thing with Haiti though Haiti strikes me as a bigger risk. But in addition to getting scammed, the real risk in Cuba in fines and imprisonment stateside. Trading with the Enemy they call it.

Well time to leave CR ,Panama and south American mongering, I'll be heading to Cuba in 2 weeks, it's 9 years since i was in this island, and i know things have changed a lot.

In just 2 weeks of Internet chat, i have already met 6 nice ladies who I probably end up screwing, 2 who I know from 3 years ago by chatting all none pros, another 4 from outside Havana, and 2 beauties who are still reluctant to go out.All of them I have the cell numbers and adresses.

Chicas is no problem, my concern how am i gonna handle all of them and second I still not decided for a hotel or a casa.

Bicycles, pedestrians, and horse-drawn carts use the middle of the road and do not readily give way to oncoming vehicles. Many vehicles are old and poorly maintained. Inoperable vehicles are often left on the road until repaired. Few roads are lit and vehicles rarely have lights or reflectors. If you must drive, drive defensively at all times and avoid driving after dark. The Autopista Central (national highway), which runs half the length of the island, is generally in good condition. City buses are infrequent and overcrowded. Tour companies offer good bus service between airports and the all-inclusive resorts. Buses used for organized day trips from hotels are also in good condition.

Well, this is pretty old news. The same warning is basically on every country's foreign ministry's website. And it is true. I have a friend in Havana who has a friend working with Havanautos, and this secures be no bullshit rentals. I would be reluctant to just walk in and rent a car in Cuba as these employees have made it their number one hobby and priority to scam tourists as much as possible and at every chance they get.

Driving conditions are bad, but fun. You need to spend the first 2-3 days of your first car rental in Cuba just crusing slowly on large streets to get a sense of the traffic and style of driving.

I don't see that happening in the near future. I have heard talk of many changes, but this is not one of them. You actually can buy/let property in Cuba - in Marina Hemingway - but these are all booked up/sold out for the moment.

Problem is that housing is scarce as it is. They have enough problems finding houses for Cubans. You would think that when every family has a house, there would be no housing problems, but what happens is that any week of the year a number of buildings collaps in Havana, so where do they put these families?

The other issue, off course, is that the government is not interested in you being in Cuba outside of the resorts. Let alone you being there all year round mingling with the Cubans.

I don't see it happening, but am definately keeping myself updated on the issue because I have the same idea of doing so sometime in the future.

1. The foreign ownership is not ownership but a long term lease. I thought the project was in limbo, due to lack of sales ?

2. Your insurance does not cover everything. It does not matter how you got into an accident, if you are a gringo, it is your fault. Havana can be brutal for driving. El campo is a breeze, except for the lack of signs.

I meet these girls rith where the Calzada de San Miguel meets with the Via Blanca. There is a Bus Stop there where you can pick up honeys. Right by the bus stop there is a trade school of some sort and there are tons of bollo looking for rides. Also, if you up the Calzada de San Miguel from Via Blanca, there is a park there. There are tons of them hanging out talking with friends and what not. Ihope this helps.
