Meanwhile, on the ground floor of MBK near Starbucks you can see this (See picture)
Could also well be that the shop caters for products mainly for Thais, they maybe cannot speak English, they do not want to end in long discussions ending nowhere with farang's on products and prices. You can see the limited english skills by the sign itself.
Keeping foreigners out of the shop reduces the "loose face" situation in not being able to deal with a foreigner, that can be felt as a reason of embarrassment.

The shop sells bags and Jewelry, so it's pretty broad.

That's one of the great 'Disney' esque aspects of the LOS. Issues regarding race and class are much less overt. It's quite possible that you can go about your business here (as an Arab, Black, Latino, Anglo, etc. Etc.) and only the people who don't have an issue with you will drift towards you and cater to you. The folks that don't like you tend not to get in your face (non-confrontational) to make you feel unwelcome. It doesn't mean it isn't there though. Even among the main three 'controlling' groups: the indigenous Thais, the Thais of Chinese descent, and the Thais of Indian descent, there are all kinds of issues of mistrust, dislike, and actions that would be labelled as 'racist' in the west.... even while on the surface there's all kinds of 'for show' displays of everyone getting along in 'perfect' harmony.

Language issue
Yep. Not to mention the very difficult path to citizenship, not allowing foreigners to own "ground," and the ease of which foreign women married to Thai men have with visas compared to foreign men with Thai women.
I have seen that before. Always thought that was more because they didn't speak English.

As Waylon already pointed out about racism, Thai's are not thieves, it's simply against their Buddist belief system.
Same same Christians.
Meanwhile, on the ground floor of MBK near Starbucks you can see this (See picture)
I realise that one can rationalise this in a number of ways, but I am quite shocked by this sign. Imagine the equivalent sign on a shop in New York or London; all hell would break loose.
Thinking about it: maybe all hell should break loose. Hopefully somebody finds the time to post this on Thai tourism websites.

Joke
They steal but don't want to be taken as thieves. LOL. Can you figure out, having seen it, why they would not allow foreigners?
That is why when caught, not telling the truth, or being dishonest, it becomes "just a joke" when it is dressed up that way it means it does not offend there Buddhist beliefs and there not stealing.
As for the sign my thoughts foreigners will think the items must be copies/fakes and start an integration to the items validity are they cannot be bothered to deal with those people, In a language which is not there own.

Gosh!
Guys. Please leave the topic of racism now and lets talk about the real deal.
I wrote a big one because I went through some stuff, but take it easy you all.

Obviously they are embarrassed by their poor English ability. As I speak Thai, I would have no issue with shopping there, and I doubt they would have any issue with me. I don't argue about quality of the goods. Either I want it for a price, or I don't. Don't expect too much, no warranties.
Sorry we should in the General Thread I think
After a decade here I'd have to say that this is completely and utterly untrue. While yes, Thais adore cleanliness and bathe often, and yes, nobody likes someone who smells. I have found over the years that a huge part of the aap naam bit is just part of the girl's routine. I am astounded by the number of girls I have stay with me who sit and drink and talk for an hour or two, and when we find out that we actually both enjoy each other's company, the sex is exciting, spontaneous, and with total disregard for the norm, just rip each other's clothes off and get into it. I have talked about this with a lot of the girls and have found them to be in complete agreement, Obviously, if one or the other needs a wash, it happens, but I would say it is far from the norm if it is actually mutual.
It depends greatly on the peronal standards of the Thais involved. My GF and most Thai girls I know are fastidious. Many girls will not allow DATY without cleaning there first. As you know, Thais are incredibly clean and fragrant, and often don't need a shower before sex. You may well be extremely clean also. This is not the norm. There are plenty of guys out there that think they are clean who actually have smelly dicks and armpits. Circumsized guys are known to be naturally cleaner, but have reduced sensitivity. I never try to get my GF or any other girl to do blowjob with me without getting clean, after going outside somewhere, or pissing, or anything. Might spoil spontenatity, but usually I have already got the cleaning out of the way (to be prepared).
Good luck to you if you want to get a gogo girl then refuse to "aap nam"! My cleaning advice stands, but wasn't directed to experienced guys like you. You will know best.

Where did you get this one? Google? Bing? YAhoo? LOL.
I am circumcised (long story there) and I have no issues with Sensitivity, in fact, if I had more sensitivity I'd be ejaculating within minutes! Haha

No black guy please.
