I'm trying to understand what exactly is the scam in any of the examples you gave above?

The $40 room fee is for short time. HK raised the price because they want you to get a room for all night so if you have your own room that is what they want.

The ficha drinks aren't mandatory if you want to avoid it just tell the girl you want to go upstairs, if you buy the drink your paying for her time since she's there to make money not be your friend.

I'll give you the robe fee being unnecessary but it's only a buck and I just figure it's part of the girls fee, if the girl asked for $101 instead of $100 would you walk away or think she was taking advantage of you?

The cleaning boys can be annoying but it's not mandatory to give them anything, I think most guys just do it so you don't look cheap in front of the girl.

Also if you use the HK shuttle your saving more than the $2 that you'the spend on those so called scams so it's a win win.

For those of you that do have trouble affording an extra dollar here or there I have a show you can watch to get ideas on how to save money.

I'm a bit confused, are the lady drinks $11 or $12 at HK now. I saw a post about $11 and now I'm seeing people say $12 unless they are just including a $1 tip for the waiter.

Also note, they don't have to get beer. They can even get a small shot too.

I knew they finally caught the serial killer who murdered the girl referenced in the post above but didn't know until earlier today that Vice published a feature story on it a few months ago (see link above). "Toby" in the linked article was actually posting on these boards quite a bit under the username "Regias Voice" back in 2022 around this time doing everything he could to provide and gather information about the (then unsolved) murder of his girlfriend. Genuinely happy to see that his persistence in solving the case resulted in increased awareness about the murders of chicas in Zona Norte, even if it did (very unfortunately) take additional killings before authorities set the wheels in motion to make an arrest.

I don't mind spending as long as I'm having fun. I don't speak Spanish and to be honest, I don't really care to get to know the girls. The girls used to dance for the customer after buying a drink. The whole club was getting lap dances everywhere. I would buy 5 - 10 drinks when the girl was dancing for me. The girl was dancing, I was spending, the waiter was getting tipped for bringing drinks, the girl was getting her drink tickets, and HK was making money. Everyone wins.

New management wanted to start pushing lap dances for money in the Miami room so now they often tell the girl she has to stop dancing for the customer. So for me, there is not a lot of point in buying multiple drinks for a girl that's going to sit next to me. And now they try to get $30 instead of $12 for the same thing. My favorite thing about HK was buying drinks and having fun with the girl. If she was fun, I'd take her upstairs and pay her. Since they've made changes, I spend far less in the club than I used to. Now I'll just walk up to girl, buy her no drinks, and take up upstairs. I'd rather buy multiple drinks and have fun with her. But HK has cracked down on that compared to a year ago. Changes made defeats my purpose in buying drinks. Now to be asked to pay $30 for nothing? Nope.

You have these illiterate waiters who hover over you and ask for another drink for the girl. They are like bees. If the girl doesn't dance for you from what you guys say they don't allow anymore, what's the point. Just go to the room and pay 40.00 for 30 minutes. What a joke.
