Shit. Think I was a Cheap Charlie before. I went down with Cool yesterday and he fucked around and showed me how to take the bus each way between the border and the zona for 10 pesos. I do not think I will ever walk or take a taxi on that route again. You catch them the same place and they take the same amount of time.
I thought I saw a YouTube video where someone mentioned taking a "public" bus into Zona Norte for $1, so it might just be 10 pesos rounded up to a dollar.
How often do the busses come around and where specifically do they drop off & pick up in the zona?

It puts me in the Mexican state of mind, and you can take another one all the way to playas for like a dollar and see all the side streets. The taxis are beyond horrible if your gringo because you got to deal with turning down their gringo prices and only time I isedbit besides to hk, the taxi made me get out a mile from destination because I wouldn't pay the extra fee as we got closer. So I don't bother with them ever.

They leave to Centro when the buses are full. Usually this means within 15 minutes. They let you off in Centro anywhere on Calle Tercera going from Ocampo up to Constitucion.
To return back to the border go to the corner of Calle Segunda and Constitucion in front of 7 11 directly across the street from Plaza Santa Cecelia. On that corner yell out " LINEA" and someone will direct you to the bus or just look on the window for one that says LINEA and double check when entering the bus " Linea? ".

I've taken that bus from the border a couple of times and remember getting off somewhere just off Revolucion and walking the rest of the way, but don't remember where they stopped.

You can choose Revolucion as your avenue or any avenues before it.
While that public bus system was being built on Revolucion there was a time when the rutas cruised down Coahuilla then turned left (towards centro) before Hacienda Hotel in the zona but I don't think that shortcut exists anymore or is needed since the public work has been finished on the bus system.
Just stick to Calle Tercera.

I hung out in Korea bar for the first half of the Super bowl. The game sucked, but I'm happy to report I was not attacked or ganged up on by the well dressed staff there. They were very attentive and able to provide great service.

I've posted in the Rocky Point thread but it's pretty slim pickings down there. There are stripclubs and some escort action. Also, an alleged bar adjacent to Hotel Senorial where pros hangout.
Looking at the hotel options and like the Jacuzzi room.
Hotel Cascadas and hotel Rizodeoro both have them or if anyone else knows of another hotel with a Jacuzzi room and if you know how to get discounts much appreciated.
Visiting for the first time:
1) can you rent a car in San Diego (US) and drive it across the border for a stay down there?
2) Are you able to rent a car when in Mexico?
3) Do you recommend renting a car, or just uber to the street scene, and bring the girls back?
4) Is it safe to walk late at night in the zone, to and from hotel?
