Works every time.

I was in Rio two weeks ago and could use contactless and every transaction came out in RS (every receipt read RS). Could be a SP thing?

It's a big city or SP thing, not a Brazil thing. The cashier is supposed to show you the screen and let you make a choice and that is what the terminal says. Did the cashier let you make the choice or not? You can ask them to redo it if the cashier did not let you make the choice. It is even written on the receipt. It happened to me so many times that I warned them not to press anything. LOL. Remember always the negative choice.

I was buying flight departing from SP a few days ago. It was showing one price is USD all the way until I entered my credit issuing country (this is new). Then the price jumped to a higher USD amount. I called the airline and they gave me some lame excuse.

I personally never done that but I have seen some of my friends do that.

They have a full luggage check area and give you a rubber wrist band with your number. Plus Scans is not that far from GRU and no traffic at 2 AM. It was absolutely perfect!

But here are some money saving tips if you want to experience Scandallo and save a few bucks.

1. Go before 7. You do not have the 200 R cover before 7. Plan carefully tho as traffic is bad and 7:01 is after 7 no exceptions.

2. Drink beer! Coronas are like 60 R or something. This is less than half the price of a mixed drink. Same alcohol content.

3. Offer less. I did not find girl prices to be unreasonable. I had offers of 1000-1200 R. They definitely would have taken less. Tell them you can only do 800 R and you are probably good.

Two other thoughts. Exchange rate is now 5. 75 so you really are getting a deal. I was paying 800 in 2019 when it was 4:1. If you go before 7 eat in the restaurant. It's no more expensive than any nice restaurant in SP and the food is really good. The Dragon Roll and Salmon were both stunning. Best cooked salmon I've had in years.
