I agree that most prices have doubled. Hotels, food, etc, and of course girls most of all. But are you saying the bus from Bangkok to Pattaya is 240 baht? I take it often and it's still around 115. I can remember it being 90 many years ago, but it's hovered around 110-125 for years. Buses are one of the true bargains left in Thailand.
Bell Travel from airport to Hotel is now Bt 240.
Just to contradict myself and prove that anything is possible in Thailand, I can book a true 4 stars hotel for $31 a day. 10 years ago it may have costed more, not less.
Ok maybe this is not the right place to ask but I just got a little confuse now.
I saw few posts start mentioning about they getting visa. Is this a new thing now that I missed. Like thai change the regulation that foreigner have to apply visa now?
I'm from Australia. I checked the webpage and it said don't need visa if staying less then 15 days in thailand. I going to Bangkok and pattaya soon. If anyone can help and answer the question that would be awsome.
Thanks in advance.
I would suggest you to get a visa beforehand coming to Thailand if you are not sure. If you search in Google for "Advance Visa Thailand" and then country name, then I'm sure you will find a link which can provide you the desired information.
Anyway you'll get a VOA of 30 days even if you are not getting a visa in advance. And yes you need to show them a return Air ticket within next 30 days from the date of applying for visa. You can extend this 30 days visa by another 30 days if you wish to stay more, this can be done at Thai Immigration office in Bangkok.
If you wish to stay beyond 60 days in Thailand then you have the options like 90 days visa / re-entry visa / 1 Year visa. Terms and conditions for each type of visa is different but it's mostly same for all the countries.
Hope this helps. And my advice is to get visa beforehand.

Skyfall
I have seen good things about the Skyfall club as far as quality of women. Does anyone have any experience as far as their willingness for LT? I will be taking my first trip to Thailand in April and figured I would ease in to my trip. I have heard about a tendency for a ST mentality at high end go-go's recently. Can anyone shed personal experience on this? I'm hoping to find a younger good looking girl who would let me bar fine her for the first 3 days or so and just have a great time (obviously at a price.) Any help / experience is appreciated.
Moreover, you're not necessarily getting your message across, the driver may well be thinking "ai hia, another keenieow farang jumping and running off to save 10 baht".
Yes, that's exactly what he'll think. Songthaew drivers are essentially self-employed. They either lease their vehicles or own them, so they understandably feel they can improvise a bit on the routes.
My feeling is that you've got to pick your battles in Thailand (or better, avoid them altogether). Getting upset about a ten-baht bus not taking you to your exact destination is a pretty silly one.
30 days visa exempt arriving by air, not 15. You can extend these for 30 days more at the immigration office, cost Bt 1,900.
But you may need an exit ticket within 30 days for the airline to let you boarding.

I take this bus quite a bit although it has been a month, it isn't 108 Baht unless all of a sudden they decided to change it since Feb 2016?
The bus price from Ekkamai to Pattaya or vice versa goes up and down a bit all the time. I think it depends on the diesel price.
Last December I paid about 120 B.
Has anyone else noticed the annoying habit of some Beach Road baht bus drivers who turn left on Soi 13 in order to avoid the traffic bottleneck at South Pattaya Road, leaving their passengers 3 blocks to walk from the entrance to Walking Street? I don't think their supervisors would approve.
Turning left into Soi 13 is not allowed coming from Beach Road (not for cars anyway) but maybe you meant Soi 13/4.
But anyway I think the drivers are doing you a favor because walking those last 3 blocks, along the sea side of Beach Road, is much better for your health than staying in the bus for another 10 minutes or so inhaling exhaust fumes. LOL!
Anyway you'll get a VOA of 30 days even if you are not getting a visa in advance.
That is called "visa exempt", and is free. VoA is what people from. Eg. India gets for Bt 1,000.
You can extend this 30 days visa by another 30 days if you wish to stay more, this can be done at Thai Immigration office in Bangkok.
It can be done at any Immigration office, not only in Bangkok.
And my advice is to get visa beforehand.
Why? Nationalities eligible for visa exempt should just use that when staying 30 days or less.

Pattaya Agogos
A short recap of my agogo experiences in Pattaya from last week.
1. LK Metro area: The quality of the girls has gone down here since last year and not so many customers anymore. Best of the bunch were Champagne and Bachelor. Close to the LK bars is Papagayo bar which has also gone downhill.
2. WS Agogos: The amount of the agogos is overwhelming. I did not visit every single one of them, maybe 50%. My favourites were Sapphire and Iron.
- Sapphire has really large lineup of young sexy girls. They are wearing stockings + top or bikinis. No nudity here. I saw the most gorgeous girl there I have ever seen in Thailand Agogos. 20 YO pretty, slim and stacked with large natural boobs. Her pictures are all over Sapphire's Facebook. You can't miss her. I asked to barfine her, she said she does not go out with customers. I repeated my question for 2 nights in the row. On the 3rd night she said she will come out with me tomorrow. So I went back on 4th night and guess what, she was not there. She remained absent for the rest of my stay in Pattaya. Well she looked too good to be true for 3000 Baht ST fuck anyway.
- Iron has topless girls and many of them are really nice with good bodies and tits. Also quite a few natural girls in the mix, not all plastic dolls like at Sensations or Skyfall. Easily better looking babes here than at Crazy House in Bangkok.
I did not like What's Up. The club itself is OK but the girls did not rock this viking boat. Too much plastic around.
I visited also clubs like Peppermint, Happy, Sharks, Electric Blue, Windmill, Fahrenheit, Palace, Crazy House, Bacchara etc, etc. They all have some nice girls around. Depends on the taste of the punter.
Regarding ST vs LT that has been discussed on the forum. Well basically all the girls are doing ST for the first time with a new punter. The don't want to stay LT. If they accept LT it will most probably turn into a ST with some excuse from the girl, headache, pain in the pussy etc. This change is no problem generally unless you have paid a LT upfront in the club which some clubs require. Has happened to me a few times. If you become a regular customer things might change and girls are willing to stay LT, even too long time. I did not have LT sessions in Pattaya, only took ST rentals.

The new Amsterdam?

And even if they accept LT, they often play LT-becomes-ST, which is very common.
This sort of emphasize the point that I was making in an earlier post. Is it worth traveling 12 hours+ one way and spending 1000 euros / dollars on a flight just to put up with this unsatisfactory nonsense? The only real advantages that Pattaya had over staying at home and mongering was that you could get long time and GFE for a fraction of the cost that it would cost you in the west.
However, with go go bar girls no longer wanting to go long time; short time costing the same as it would cost you in the West (or more once you take into account bar fine and lady drinks); paying up front becoming the norm rather than the exception; and girls often not delivering what they promised even though you have already paid up front, then what is the point of traveling to Pattaya? Especially to visit go go bars given that only a fraction of them feature full nudity anymore.
The only advantage I can think of is if you enjoy your drink and like to go on bar crawls. You can sit in different bars with lots of half-naked women who are willing to talk to you for a few minutes for the price of a few expensive drinks. But you can do that anyway in lap dancing clubs in the West but without the jet lag.
Walking around different places looking at girls in bikinis who are available for short time? Sounds familiar? It seems that Pattaya is becoming more and more like Amsterdam every day except you don't get the suffocating humidity in Amsterdam, there are a greater variety of girls of different nationalities to choose from and you can always roll a big spliff if you want to get away from it all.

I don't think their supervisors would approve.
In any case, when they do it with me on board I simply hop off the bus the moment they turn into the Soi and don't pay the 10 baht. If enough passengers did the same maybe they would think twice about taking the shortcut.
I see a lot of complaining on this forum about how things have changed over the last few years and the way in which many Thais now try to rip off and treat foreigners with contempt and no respect. It's easy enough for me to understand the reasons why. They know for the most part that they can get away with it.
Sure, they should change those habits, but you're exposing yourself to unnecessary risk. A cop or a fellow baht bus driver might be nearby, and could tackle you. It's not likely, but don't understimate the potential danger, in Bangkok an American has been murdered over a 50 baht taxi fare not so long ago.
Moreover, you're not necessarily getting your message across, the driver may well be thinking "ai hia, another keenieow farang jumping and running off to save 10 baht".
Yes, the driver could draw out a gun and shoot me dead; a cop could tackle me; I could be murdered; but that's not the point. The point is that the baht bus route printed on maps of Pattaya has the busses going to Walking Street and making the loop turn on South Pattaya Road not turning off on a detour 3 blocks before the passenger's destination. By hopping off the bus when he takes a detour, I'm not trying to send him a message. I just want to go to Walking Street but that is not where he is headed. He's going the wrong way.
Yes, that's exactly what he'll think. Songthaew drivers are essentially self-employed. They either lease their vehicles or own them, so they understandably feel they can improvise a bit on the routes.

Of course, if they can get away with it they're going to keep doing it. If the Go-go girl you bar fine stops servicing you just before you finish and decides to go meet her friend somewhere, I suppose you are OK with that too; you just pay up and it's no big deal? It wasn't a battle; no one was upset. The driver simply decided to go where I wasn't going so I hopped off.

This wasn't a big deal for me; just a minor irritation. I really don't think that the driver expected his 10 baht. He knew what he was doing.

Not my experience

Most girls that showed interest in being barfined seemed to prefer long time. I usually prefer ST as I sleep better when there is no naked woman next to me. Yet, I did a few LTs, for a variety of reasons. Hence, I am not convinced anything has changed in that area. A girl may prefer LT to earn more money, sleep in a nice bed with A / see, or for some other reason. It really depends on the particular girl.

A "practical question
HI there! I will go fort he first time to Pattaya in a couple of weeks. My favorite is BBBJ, ideally with CIM. Please let me know where in Pattaya can I be guaranteed to get at least BBBJ? (in Bangkok it becoems increasingly difficult, except in beerbars with more mature ladies). Thanks a lot and have good time!

I am a real fan of your posts about all the clubs and such and you must generally be a cool guy, but I have to tell you jumping off the baht bus, not paying the 10 bt and walking away is a blatant mistake where nothing is gained and much is risked. The easiest way to prevent that from happening again, I used to take it on second Road and some turned around on Pattaya klang when I I wanted to go to Soi 6,any way the way to avoid is to ask the driver if he goes there before getting on.
