Sounds like the DR is a great place to be budget wise. A GoGo gal in BKK will cost you 2k + 600 + Drinks (450 baht- 2 for you. 1 for her) = 3150 so about 100 USD for a ST, and most likely the gal will want to get in and get out as quick as possible. You are paying over twice what you would in the DR.

Before he bought his bevy of bars (first one being Midnight, which was wonderful before he acquired it) , Cowboy was the land of 400 bath bar fines and no gal would dare ask or expect more than 1k for ST. But the best value is streetwalkers near Nana; I've had several very nice ladies for 1000 baht and no bar fine since they are on the street. They are not the best looking but sometimes can be the most fun. 1000 baht is in the neighborhood of what you were paying for ladies in the DR. I've been both places and can say overall the experience is better in Thailand than some of the loco crazies I've put up with in Sosua. My two cents.

But minimum you're going to pay 1500 ST + 600 barfine + 300ish for drinks, which is US$75.
If you go to one of the really popular Japanese gogo bars like Baccara, they might insist on 2000 ST, which is an extra $15.
You can go to massage parlors and pay around 1900 baht for a full hour ST, which is $60 US. Not a bad deal compared to other countries.
Freelancers might be the best way to go. Usually 1500 with no barfine or drink fee.
Streetwalkers are a bit rough for me, but some guys enjoy them. 1000 ST.
