In 2006 most girls in POP were relocating from SD for new opportunity, and also to stay with family members that had relocated to Puerto Plata (POP). You had the resorts, Playa Dorado etc, that had jobs. This was before Punta Cana got hot. POP was an up and coming place. Sosua had the beach and a few clubs where the girls figured they could meet guys to offer the better life along with WU (Western union) , and maybe a new life abroad. Towns like Montellano, La Union, Santiago, and Puerto Plata had girls who could offer these guys from abroad all they could handle. Classsicos was a hot spot for new talent from the nearby cities. These girls were looking for long term. Romance, offers to meet the family, and invitations of a home cooked meal were the norm. Sex was on a GFE basis. Romance was the vibe of Sosua then.

Flash forward to Sosua in 2010, and now you have a Sosua in transition. It had become a hustle with a "New breed" of girls who injected themselves into the Sosua game directly from SD (Santo Domingo). These girls bypassed POP and came strictly to have fun and get paid. I tip the rental guy 500 pesos and he gave me an up grade from an Economy to a full size SUV. T brushed a tree backing up in Sosua and a guy quoted us 6000 pesos to fix it. T had no money and forgot to activate his Visa card before we left. He had me hot! I had 2000 pesos and an active Visa. I WU money to myself but at that hour I couldn't get to a store. He said we will just use his phone for navigation to Sosua. After we got the car, T asked me for a charger because he ran down his battery playing game on the way there.
