Too many gun owners unwilling to give that freedom up. I used to be anti gun until my home was robbed while I was away. My gut tells me crime is up so much all over the country, I am not blaming either party for high crime rates, both dems and repubs want access to guns for protection. I know I do now. I know in New Jersey, a strong blue state, they recently passed laws to allow conceal carry when for decades it was hard just to buy a gun. I this is the trend across the country as well.

Family, friends, wife, parents, children, whatever. Now imagine a group of 1000 people who hated you and everyone you love and 100 of those people who hate you are directly responsible for killing, kidnapping, and torturing several of the people you love. Only 100 of the 1000 are directly responsible for this, but the 1000 all hate you and some of their children will try to kill the people you love in future generations. Here is your choice, kill all 1000 people and save everyone you love or continue to allow the people you love to be killed, kidnapped, and tortured. What would you do? That is a hard question, but someone who decides to kill to protect their family is not some one I would automatically call evil and label a villain. You must live there to truly understand what is going on. For most of history this questioned has been answered with war and the stronger people eliminate the people who threaten them. My biggest question during this whole war is why do these Arab Muslim nations who care so much about Palestine not allow them to enter their countries? Egypt? Iran? Iraq? Why do they not save their Muslim brothers and their children? Why watch them be forced from their homes and bombed and killed and mutilated? My guess is they want conflict and they hate Israel so much they would rather watch their fellow muslims die and lose their land than bow down to the people they hate, the Israelis. I think this is horrible and cruel by the muslim nations. I know if it were me, in a heartbeat I would take them in as refugees. That's one definition of insanity. Rarely is there a clear solution to difficult problems. But courageous people understand they have to act to bring about change. I don't think getting rid of access to all guns is the solution, and I don't know of any sensible person who proposes that. But there needs to be some sensible regulations put into place. The United States, the supposed world leader, is the only country in the world with a gun violence problem of this nature. We're leading in the wrong category here. Continued prayer for the family then hearing about the next round of shootings the next day is not a viable option. It's never been one. Doing something is better than doing nothing at this point. The 2nd amendment is not absolute, just like any other right in the Bill of Rights, and subject to regulation just like any other right. That's my view of it. I've been sick of this since Columbine.
