Consider all the wealthy Asian countries located not far from Thailand: Malaysia, HK, Singapore, Japan, Korea and mainland Chinese are the main ones.

No, it's not better. It normalizes that excluding all people of a certain race before they even show up, makes it an acceptable industry practice. As for "once in the room", YMMV is always the case out there, and it does not primarily depend on race.
