Now, for the statistical cultural norm, your theory is most likely true. However there are individuals in every cultural that stray far from that norm and it is hard to argue the event is not likely to happen. I would surmise that the liklihood of it happening correlates to the social standing of the girl which in turn guides her value system. The lower down the social pecking order the more likely it is that she will be tempted by the sweet talking farang. However (always acknowledging the exception to the rule) this will not be because she is dying for a shag but because she sees potential in either a short term monetary gain or the possibility of a longer term relationship which takes her out of her dead end future.

You could pick apart my statement by saying "maybe the girls are ugly" or " they are uneducated girls" or whatever but, the fact of the matter is young attractive women can and do have sex with young attractive men all over the world with no money involved. How discreet they are about it depends on the culture but, it happens. I have the same amount of casual, no strings (or money) attached sex here as I had back in the west. Maybe a little more here in Thailand actually.

If you are from a poor rural background having sex can start with losing your virginity at an early age for a price that is paid to the parents as compensation or you lose it to the local young stud that you think you are in love with. This ends up with the girl becoming pregnant and the young stud legging it either before or shortly after the baby is born. Sex then becomes a way to earn a livelihood to support herself and whoever is looking after the child. When I read posts where the writer is raving over the GFE he had and how excited the girl was with his performance I smile. Almost always introductions will be through mutual friends or they are work colleagues and sex will not happen until a serious relationship develops and at least the engagement is around the corner.
Any variations to any of the above are in my humble opinions exceptions to the norm but I guess if you are young good-looking generous with a sense of humor your chances will be a whole lot better than most of the troops that are out and about.
