September Road Trip - Part 3 - Communications
Yesterday I told my wife about the coming trip. Tomorrow I will tell Janice that I’m not coming to Butuan. My wife took it well. I suspect Janice will not.
Yes, I’m still married, and yes, she has now tolerated two trips a year for almost four years. She has a pretty good idea what I’m up to, although we don’t talk about it. The last two trips, she has taken me to the airport.
(Later)
Yup, Janice didn’t take it well at all. She pestered me online even though my intent was to write a letter, so I jumped onto YM and told her I wasn’t coming. The next 15 minutes were excruciating. She couldn’t understand why, even though I told her. In fact, her persistence and unwillingness were the bigger factors in my decision to go instead of her potential for money-sucking. But I think I finally got it ended.
Meanwhile, DIA has mostly dried up. I could go shopping by sending mail to possibles but I decided to join Filipina Hearts instead. Wow, did that stir up a lot of action. If I’m logged in, I get IMs and emails even when it should be the middle of the night there. Too much, actually. It’s hard to concentrate on any one of them under the bombardment. Maybe it’s because I’m new blood there. I bought a one-month subscription. It will expire while I’m on the road.
The pick of the litter is Sandy, whose profile said elsewhere but is actually working in Davao at an Internet Café. We chatted while she worked. She’s also a caregiver student which was verified by the uniform she was still wearing. She has offered to be my "tour guide, " although what we were actually talking about evolved and became clearer as the conversation progressed. We’ll probably meet on Saturday, my last day there, and spend the day together, starting at breakfast. She gets off work at 7 a. M.
I also had a long conversation with Jenny in Zamboanga, which was senseless since I’m not going there, but I’m sure I would get her if I did. She’s a nurse. Just what I need for my old age.
Meanwhile, I changed my PAL flight from Butuan (sorry, guys, no report from there) to Davao. I debated between Cebu and Davao for a long time. Davao finally won out because of information mined from this and other boards. Cebu would be more expensive bothfor hotels and girls, I think. And it’s been nearly two years since I was in Davao. I booked a room at Casa Leticia based on info from the boards.
I’ll still fly back to Cebu for one night with my Lapu Lapu girl (or as she types "Lapu2x") before heading to Angeles City. Two cuties to meet there, and if either one falls through there is plenty to choose from.
Changing my flight from Butuan to Cebu will cost about $30, but saves an entire new flight. Or does it? I probably could have flown Cebu Pacific to Davao for about that, but I would have given up the already paid cost of the flight to Butuan. I told Janice to see about a refund from the hotel booking there (if she paid it). I consider that an acceptable loss, because I would have probably sent her a guilt gift otherwise.
After I’d decided to go to Davao instead of Cebu, I got a great offer for a young twosome from a board member and was sorry to have to decline. He seems to be training them for service. Drat! Oh well. I don’t expect to be short of service. Probably more than I can handle at my advanced age.

September Road Trip, Part 4 - The Girls
the list keeps evolving. a couple of girls i thought were certain are off the list or relegated to maybes. but new ones keep coming. i wish i was living in the philippines or thailand. i could mine the dating boards forever.
i dropped janice from butuan. i think we would have had a hot time but the prospects for entanglement and expense were just too much. instead, i’m going to davao for thursday-saturday. i’m chatting with a girl who works at an internet café, who is a maybe. she’s a little flaky, but – if she decides to go for it – i think we will spend a lovely afternoon together.
(from one of our chats:)
titmouse: you are so bold in some ways and so frightened in others.
tess: hehe yeah that is right
titmouse: don't be frightened. i will take good care of you. you will have a good experience and you will be glad you did.
tess: i want to experience many things
titmouse: is there anything you've always wanted to try?
tess: i dont want to regret my decision
tess: many things
tess: and i dont know the others
tess: u know why i want to do this because they say having sex is like u forgetting all ur problem huh
titmouse: well, at least during...
tess: yeah
if sandy doesn’t work out, i’ve gathered enough info about davao from the boards to find alternatives, i think. if i can stay up late enough.
thanks to all who contribute, by the way. i have been gathering information for more than two years on various places. i doubt i would have been brave enough to make my first trip without you. now, i’m almost a veteran. i’ll try to pay back your efforts as the trip progresses.
i’ll fly to cebu for one night after davao. i think brenda will meet me at the airport but we haven’t talked in several days. i just sent an email to touch base with her. she’s pretty certain for action if she shows. if not, i may try to find liza’s as i leave mactan. and since i’m staying at the midtown, i can surely find someone around osmena circle.
the next afternoon, it’s off to angeles city with a direct flight to clark. no shortage of talent there. i’ll be in angeles for four nights starting sept 8. i’m hoping to meet nenita – she seems to be a non-pro but willing – who is very cute on webcam. and there’s a waitress at the blue nile as a backup. also, my ex-wingman paul has provided two names plus a mamasan at la pasha. not that i would need much help in angeles in finding company.
after that, it’s off to thailand. i’ll fly to udon thani to pick up pen, stay one night, and then return to bangkok and on to pattaya. i was a little concerned she might be a chubby, but her fuller picture on dia is better. a few pounds is not that important. i don’t like them bony. and who am i to complain? if it doesn’t work out in udon, i’ll leave her there and return on my own. this would be my fourth trip to pattaya, so i can find my way around.
if all goes well – or even if it doesn’t – i’ll take pen back to bangkok and put her on the plane, then spend four days in bangkok. i’m staying at the majestic suites and haven’t made any arrangements there. why bother? there’s no shortage of women, in and out of doors. might even get a "massage. " or try [CodeWord901]’s, which i’ve never visited.
then i will drag my weary body back to manila for another three days starting sept 21. i’ve made contact with michelle, a referral from my wingman who seems very nice. there’s also mary jane and marcie who would be glad to get a phone call. i’d like to check out some of the bars besides la café, too. if i have any money left. or the strength to spend it.
next week, i’ll start to pack. (anyone interested in my packing list? ) i usually pack and repack several times to get weight down. i’ll try to avoid surcharges. my friend paul manages with just a backpack. i can’t imagine how he does it. of course, he’s not wearing clothes most of the time.

Well..Angeles to Phnom phen
Well I am considering something new other than the same old Angeles routine. I am considering going to Phnom Phen though Clark if possible or most likely though Manila. I have checked sites and seems not that easy to get to Phnom Phen. I would like suggestion (s) on cost, airline and visa information. Thanks for any imput anyone has. I will be in A. C this September for trip #8. Hmm does this qualify me as an experience Monger yet! Wish I could meet up with old friend Dave from USA but he won't be here for while due mononucleosus how ever the way you spell it. Anyway anyones help on fly from phil to Cambodia would be great.
