CTG is the most expensive city in Colombia by far. However, when compared to other Caribbean locations, it ain't bad.

If the Gringos (read extranjeros) didn't ruin CTG 16 years ago, they probably aren't responsible for its oft mentioned demise today.
Better than 80% of the tourist dollar spent in CTG is Colombian. Gringos simply do not matter in CTG and matter less in other parts of the country.
Even though I will now be spending the majority of my time in Medellin, I will continue to spend a couple of months per year in CTG. It is a nice change of pace. It is not as cheap as it used to be. But where in the world is it?

I have been traveling to Colombia now for three years and the most I ever paid as a Newbie was $200,000, and since then I never ever pay over $100,000 for all night! Last summer I pulled from LDV a black Chica and a White Chica for 100,000 per Chica for a few hours of fun in the sun! In Cartagena some girls are asking $200,000 ST (short time) whereas guys readily pay $162,000 at Loutrons for a straight hour.
In Cartagena Pleyboy's is now $290,00 for toda la noche including the bar fine and usually the girl will stay with you til the afternoon instead of 7 or 8 am like many Medelin girls do.

Ctg is STILL nothing compared with what it was like up to 1994, but they can seem to grasp that Ctg existed as a tourist area for decades before they went there.

Medellin is a lot cheaper than Ctg, you can live for half the cost in Medellin than Ctg, wether girls, apts, food, drinks etc., of comparable quality in each City, virtualy everything. The only one that comes to mind where Ctg is not more expensinve than Medellin is sea food, I can't think of anything else.

There are at least a couple of places right out of Ctg where the prices are the same as Mayorista, although there was only a few girls there that were worth banging when I went there in 2002 & 2003. There is strip with half a dozen bars and strip club, I don't remember the name of the area or the name of the bars, although I could find them again.
My friend told me late last year that the prices haven't changed a lot and the places are still there, but I don't think they are very safe neighbourhoods, for comparison I think Mayorista is very safe area compared with them, so I don't recomend them on the boards.
While I have been recomending Mayorista since 2002, along as you don't wander away from the main drag.

How much are crack ***** in Riviera Beach these days? Depending on where you go and what you know and what they know the price varies from "free" to 500.000 pesos in Colombia. The most expensive is usually the "free" pussy, they stay too long. I still get some of the 60-80,000 peso pussy in cartagena but that is usually beach of street girls. Poblado is not Medellin. Poblado is not cheap.
I just bought an apartment in Barrio Conquistadores in Medellin. It is Estrato 5. I paid well under 1 million pesos per square meter. You will pay well over 2 million per square meter in Laguito. New construction in Laguito is closer to 3 million.
Hunter, by the way, has lived in Medellin for 4 years. I have lived in Cartagena for 4 years.
I am afraid your wrong like for like nearly everything in Medellin cheaper compared with Ctg, in my opinion at least.
Parque Lleras has expensive restaurants, go to the expensive restaurants in Ctg and compare the prices, there are no expensive restaurants in Laguito compared with Parque Lleras, because Laguito is not a restaurant area.
As to apts, you can get better quality in Medellin than Ctg for a cheaper rate. Although there are fewer short term rental apts in Medellin compared with Ctg as Medellin is not a tourist City, but the industrial City of Colombia, most short term apts in Medellin are aimed at the visiting Colombian businessman, there are plenty of cheap ones available you just have to look, but in the right place.
There are far more girls on the game in Medellin, there are few tourists (Colombian or foreigner), so most of the girls go with the local guys who pay the local rates, only the well off ones pay 150,000 pesos plus and only a small percentage of the girls actually charge that.
Disco are expensive to cheap in Medellin, I go to discos that are better than any I have been to in Ctg and pay half or less for the alcohol. Most certainly there are more expensive discos in Medellin, but compared with Ctg, those discos are in a differant world.
I have spent about 1.5 years in Ctg and 4 years in Medellin.
