The ped waiting lines has been much longer in the past 3 weeks or so. I have been waiting roughly 30 min to a hour. It is pain since the good SG's & SW's are mainly out on the weekends lately. Just hopeing pedwest opens up again. Not sure, I believe the CBP is waiting for the US & Mexico travel restrictions to be lifted.

People are becoming far less abiding of any restrictions -- the increased traffic on the border just being one example. Despite the vaccine, infection numbers in the US are flattening and not going down. Even if numbers in the US improve, they will continue to get worse in Mexico, and that may prevent a border opening even in April.
Regarding border wait: Consider yourself lucky if you only have to wait an hour during regular hours. The wait on the border keep getting longer. Based on above observations, it is doubtful if PedWest will open anytime before April 21. Also, I am noticing many times the wait duration posted for crossing via Otay is longer the San Ysidro.
P.S. Really appreciate the good info posted on this forum. Would love to know what precautions people and chicas are taking to avoid Covid-19.
