That includes Cebu and Clark. Why wouldn't the airline be able to turn it over? They have to pay their rent and everything else. They are not going to risk losing the privilege to operate over not turning over the money.

A year ago I flew out of CRK on international flight but do not remember if it was in the ticket price or not.

Last month I paid the departure tax P150 at TAC as usual.

Years (decades) ago the tax at NAIA was collected in the airline ticket price until one or more airlines went bankrupted and NAIA lost out of the money. Then they went to collection at the airport. Only within a little over a year ago did NAIA go back to collecting the tax in the ticket price. I believe the same time frame for Cebu airport the tax is built into the ticket price.

Turnover of the tax could be a complex accounting and tracking matter especially if you have so many booking agents and online services collecting it and are to forward it. As you may be aware forwarding of funds in Phil can have a shrinkage problem at times!

Direct flights ceased in 2014 after running for a decade. Why was this? A downturn in Angeles monger business? Police crackdowns? Are hotels suffering after the building boom? Or have the East Asians stepped in to replace Western clientele? In short: is Angeles City still a viable destination? Thanks.

Several weeks ago in the paper was a story of plan to divert the Tacloban-Samar flights to Clark. This may come to pass (at least partially) once the highway construction to NAIA is completely finished.

Why the Bangkok-CRK route was terminated is anybody's guess.

I can vouch that I definitely pad on domestic CRK. CEB, then CEB. MNL as recently as June 2016. Plus international CRK. HKG.

I can't imagine that there were many Germans in AC in 1969. Maybe the US airman was of German ancestry and there was a misunderstanding. Or maybe the trike drive has a preference. Maybe just doesn't much like people of the USA.

Then again, there is no reason to believe that he was born in AC. Other than the fact that he lives there.

Certainly did not pay it in cash on either of my trips this year {Term 1 at MNL }and don't remember it on previous trip {Term 3}. I certainly remember on one trip looking for the desks and not seeing them and being surprised. I have a vague memory of reading about the change, because OFWs were charged it in the ticket price and had to reclaim it at the airport. They were not happy!

I am with Mr E on this in that I don't pay any tax either when using my favored carries. But in Cebu I have paid when using Air Asia as I forgot to tick the box when booking to pay it. The cutie with me did not pay as I has remembered to tick her box (and other things with a different box LOL).

Since the beginning of 2015 I flew out of either MNL / CRK with various airlines. Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, Tiger air, Cathay Pacific, Turkish airlines and was never required to pay the fee. I was under the impression they now included it in the price of every ticket leaving the country.

Here we go w / the off topic stuff, hope it is moved to the General Forum before there are 3 pages of the airline ticket BS.

Got to AC yesterday after 3 days in Makati and the contrast after one day is brutal. After several clubs didn't see much worth taking out.

I know better than to react to this disparity in quality too quickly so will keep an open mind.

In a hour or so I will go out and earnestly look for a playmate on Perimeter and have high hopes, we'll see.

Fields Ave was crowded last night (Friday) but the clubs were barren of lookers, maybe because I started around 10 pm.

I'll put in more info as trip progresses but the idea of returning (earlier than planned) to Makati is creeping into my mind.

Also I might add coming here will give you a good idea of what it would be like to visit Korea.
