In nether case did that president's Party win the election. And in both cases their announcement not to run for another term was made months and months prior to the election, giving everyone plenty of time to mount whatever campaign some claim Harris did not have this time around.

And then there is the historical problem with getting the VP of a sitting president elected after that president has served more than one term. And I don't mean the VP getting elected after already serving as president for a time due to the death of his president.

Unless I am forgetting one, I think George Bush1 is the only example of it happening in the past 100 years if not much longer. And that is despite the VP of a multiple term president practically always being the next presidential candidate, perhaps the lone exception being Biden following Obama, for family reasons.

The overwhelming outcome is that the previous sitting president's Party does not win the next election other than the case of George Bush1. Moreover, despite two back-to-back true landslide election victories for George Bush1's boss, it was a damn close vote count for his win into another rare one term presidency in modern times.

It seems the American electorate simply can not warm up to the idea of electing presidential candidates from Parties where the top of the previous winning ticket has gone missing from the campaign.

So the fact that Harris came razor-thin narrowly closer to defeating Trump than most VP candidates in general as well as most Party candidates stepping in to run when their boss has decided not to run even with plenty of time for everyone to get used to the idea proves rather conclusively that Kamala Harris was a damn good candidate, probably better than any other candidate under similar circumstances in history.

Less than 115,000 angry Muslim votes spread across the only three swing states that mattered, less than 0. 75 of a single percentage point of the votes in those three states and not even on an issue she or her administration had much if any control over?

That is an amazing electoral result for anyone, even if she had been the typical middle-aged or older, white, male Christian and not running against a life-long career conman essentially from that demographic anyway, who had been campaigning steadily for that 2nd term without doing anything else positive for the country or particularly challenging since January 20,2017.

I mean, by stark contrast to the tremendous challenges and resulting historic positive outcome for America achieved by Biden-Harris that required and consumed practically every hour of every day of the previous four years to recover America and the rest of the world from the colossal mess of everything Trump left behind.
