Anyone with or without Vietnamese Language skills you could try at the famous 131 Cafe Nhactre Bar at 131, Nguyen Hue , Dist 1. There are more than 100 waitress and hostess in this bar alone. I was brought to this place by a 'resting' Corona beer promoter I met at Club 777, before it was closed. This place according to her, is very popular among the Vietnamese, as a pickup place for the waitress/hostess. If not what for the more than 100 of them.
This place if I am not wrong, is affliatted to the infamous No.1 Cafe Nhactre Bar at Ly Tu Throng.
Less popular but also lotsa gals is the 119 Bar located just a few shops beside the 131.
The biggest party tonite must be the 12th anniversary of Apocalypse Now(AN)
It's still rocking on as I type and it's already 1.15am. Still, there are people arriving!
The models from Vietnam Fashion week were also there. The coolest thing was that they left in their own Honda 150cc Scooters. Imagine them in their little black dress, riding a scooter. Sexist thing I ever saw on 2 wheels.
Well, soon after they left, I left too. Btw, my live reporting from Saigon has been extended to this Friday by my boss. Anyone from here was at the 12th anniversary too???

Where are the files for the Models Club Liquid is empty, Club 777 had a lot of girls but now it is closed. Club heat is cool but not that many girls, and AN has a lot of girls but, most are 4 and 5's. Not that many in the 8,9,10. I stuck with the bars like NO. 1, lots of good looking girls in the 8,9,and 10's. There is a girl there by the name of Hang. What a cutie. And Hien, wow. Nice girls. The dancers are sweet too, man o man.
I went to Windows of the World and it was full of bums (guys) and maybe 4 girls there and out of those 4 girls I took 2 of them there. Last year when I was there you could find a massage parlor (you know what I mean) anywhere and now I can't find one to save my life. It seems that it cost almost 65 bucks for a girl of quality 8 in a club like 777. I would go to a beer one place and have 3 girls come in and tell them to go to my hotel on different days. They are a lot cheaper and a lot better looking, that for me is the best bet because when you go to a club, the girl you like is already with some dude.
Any girl you want anywhere you can get, you can walk down the street, in a store, where ever you can get her, but remember there is always a price. It all depends on you and your wallet. Somehow the ones I want always want a relationship. and that get expensive. Learn from my mistake!

What's the latest on the bia om around Hai Ba Trung? Has Paradise closed for good? What was the reason? Is U2, Crystal still happening? What are the best of the the ones still open and who all has been shut down recently? What are the best HCMC discos for beauties and action? Hopefully, some local expats or recent travellers have the inside scoop on the scene.

as far as i know there are only two discos happening currently: HEAT on Pham Ngu Lao Str. and good, old AN
Heat definitely has the prettier girls, but also not as easy to score, as the scene is very mixed. by far not every girl there is a working girl!
I've scanned the VN reports but nothing is ever mentioned about having multiple girls at the same time (whether it be for 1 or 1+ guys). Is this something that is just never done? If not, is it the women who generally find it unacceptable, or are there other factors involved?
I will be spending a few weeks in HCM and would appreciate any info.

Two girls can be had in VN.
I got lucky my first time out. This was a year back so the geography may be off.
I was staying in the Renaissance (I think district 3), a total expat zone. Went to a little bar not too far on one of the side streets. It had a red light outside, so you know what was going on inside.
All it was was a bar with girls. Started chatting up one of the gals and bought her drinks. Negotiated to go to a hotel owned by the owner of the bar. She wanted to bring a friend for 'safety and fun'
I told her I wasn't going to double the amount we agreed to, they discussed it and decided they would split the money and both go (about US$30 each).
We hopped into a cab, rode for about 15 minutes, got to the hotel, paid the room fee for 2 hours ($15) and did the deed with both of them.
Next day the came to my hotel and I took them to lunch at a riverside cafe and they showed me the city.

OK well the update for these days.....
the famous disco 777 is now absolutely No More. The original report about it here was that it got shut down and would reopen in a few weeks. Well unless their new look is going to be the Gutted look, it's history. I looked in the door and the place has been torn to shreds inside.
The hot discos these days seem to be Heat and Liquid, and Apocalypse is same as it's always been.
All the major hostess bars are still operating, no worries there. Paradise was said to have closed. Not true (unless it was just a few days). I was there. It's unchanged.
Long Phi bar on Pham Ngu Lao shut down again this weekend, in order to relocate a ways down PNL next month.
The police crackdown situation hasn't been very noticeable lately.
I'll be going to HMC next week for the first time, and going from Hanoi. I only have a couple of days and no time for any thorough research. What are the best two or three places to go and how do the prices compare with Hanoi? Thanks for any help.
based on what i'm hearing from various ex-pats and most recent travelers the disco scene has suffered from recent crackdowns in hcmc. according to a recent post here (thanks ratafreddie) heat and an are happening as usual but a lot of disco "hot spots" have closed down like blue, 777, speed, and some others. i don't like the disco scene in vn particularily, but if you dig new century in hanoi you'll probably like heat in pham ngu lao. lots of stunning babes who may or may not be available.
some other direct hit and miss venues (but more obvious hits) are the rather expensive hotel club joints like saigon-saigon (caravelle) with its boring filipino band and catwalk (new world) with plenty of expensive eye candy. i am forever amused by the typical line, "i go with you honey one hundred dollah." it's pathetic when it comes out of the mouth of burnt out older pros who have been hanging out in the same place for 7-8 yrs.
over the decade, i've found the aforementioned scenes only fair to poor in hcmc, so i usually just stumble around the infamous hai bai trung str areas and make calls on my favorite bia/karaoke oms and a few formal dance clubs. the quality can be found but the price is usually not cheap - at least not on a night in and night out basis.
for me, i'll more than likely mostly stick to a few rather obscure venues where some barbershops, relax cafes and private hotels have the goods for a much more reasonable sum of vnd. perfect st in the late afternoon or early evening so i'm more ready the next day to get out of bed early and see as much as possible in vn, not just the same old nightlife (heck, meeting regular girls in the daytime is great!). most of the bia om girls i've had seem to like lt but they also tend not to be available to take out until quite late.
i can't wait for my next one month trip later this year. the only question i'll have for myself is, how long on the ground in vn and how long in wild wooly, delicious cambodia.
