Thanks.....I had forgotten how close City Garden was, as well. I am leaning toward Makati Palace if we stay down that way. My friend may enjoy the ease of barhopping down on Burgos over taxi rides. Plus I think he will enjoy the quality selection in many of those bars. But I want to make sure he experiences LA Cafe at least one night and maybe even G-Point, Amazonia and Robinsin's Mall. I have stayed at Shangri La, Mandarin Oriental, Intercontinental and Dusit in the past, so know of those options, but never at Peninsula. Is the Peninsula gf?

I faced similar issue a few weeks ago. Checked on Asiarooms and found place called A. Venue. Its on Makati Ave and over road from Wild West (and down about 100 metres). Next to a new mall with lots of restaurants and a night club. Advantage is they have one or two bedroom suites and not regular rooms. This means lots more places for in room bonking. Anywys was clean and good car park. An I will be there again this weekend. My cutie is coming down to meet me. And bringing a school uniform she bought just for the ocassion. Wooohoo. Anyways think is US$70 including tax and breakfast, can book online. Hope this helps.

In the past I have never had a problem at the Pennisula, provided the girl of your choice, has an ID. She will need to register before going up to the room.

I stayed at the Makati Palace in July of this year and they also required that the girl have an ID when going to your room after about 6:00PM. Most of the girls on Burgos know this, but just remind them before you leave the club.

The only time that has ever happened to me was at the old Westin in Manila Bay about 7 years ago. I suspect the girls would have to register at the door of ANY hotel if they look like shit, I've never had this problem.

I made my first mistake by booking the Citadel Inn online (looks great online) for 3000P. I normally stay in the Diamond Hotel or Mandarin Oriental and I took a chance as I was only staying one night and I wanted to party on Burgos. IMHO what a dump, they only have two elevators and it took up to 5 minutes to get to your floor or to go out and I didn't feel good taking a lady back there. The mattress looked like it was as old as the hotel and the bathroom was worn out.

As far as registering my guests, I am indifferent as to whether or not I care. I do care if an establishment is going to sharge me a guest fee, tho. Part of me likes the security of registering, but this really only applies to freelancers vs take-out from a go-go bar as there is a way to lodge a complaint or follow-up on a problem.
