Hey - I always like your trip reports, because you tell it like it is in Cuba, without BS. What are things like there since the Hurricanes? What cities have you been to? How is the police enforcement situation?

I was only in Havana this trip.

There are some food shortages and I would not trust the water situation. Some areas have their electicity cutting out every now and then. Cops are stretched a little thin which means there are lots of girls everywhere. Some places had some real cuties from the Oriente earning money for hurricane relief. Tourism is down so you might be mauled by the chicas. Funny though, they still did'nt want to drop the asking prices much.

The thrill of the trip was walking from Habana vieja to mi casa in Vedado. Said hi to a nice looking girl standing in a doorway in centro. Well, cuba being cuba....45 minutes later I continued my walk home and she had grocery money. Being somewhat responsible but horny, I just got the Bill Clinton special.

Saturday night was packed on the malecon, as was Salon Rojo.
Walked around the areas Amocuba hangs around but saw no such dude as he described himself.

Enforement of things have been more stringent since Raul took over. Casa enforcement, alot less leakage. For example, there is no fear that rum and beer are fake....but Cubans will find a way to make money.

I left Havana for Miami on Friday the 26th and wasn't there on Saturday night. The two weeks previous I was almost always within 2 blocks of the Habana Libre or Hotel Colina. Sorry I missed you Beersterry, a few beers and swapping 'war' stories would have been interesting.

IT used to be (in the 90's) that you could go to Cuba for cheap sex. While that 50CUC price is cheap by european standards or by Escort standards, it is no bargain.

Of course, some of the jiniteras of cuba are prettier with nicer bodies (I guess it depends on their having had children yet)

Here, if I look hard enough I can get a 20-25 year old for 45-60 for ST. Yes, she uses drugs, but is slender, not ugly. not a hardbody, but generally not flabby either.

To be fair, lets compare like quality. Here, one could find an independent escort of like quality to cuban jiniteras for 100 - 150 per hour.

Trip to cuba: 25/day for the casa particular, 50/day for the car, 15/day for the food, at 450 for airfare and a 15 day trip 450/15 = 30/day for the airflight. 55/day (US) for the jinitera. Hmmm 25+50+15+30+55 = 175/day. Let's cut out the car, and we still get 125/day.

Geez, I thought cuba was supposed to be one of the POOREST countries in the western hemisphere? The average person earns 20/month, whereas in the USA the average person earns 2000/month.

I went to Havana earlier this year and experienced similar price quotes. I am just amazed at the prices the girls charge and get.

When I went to Havana, I found that If you search long enough and hard enough and you haggle, and you are willing to stick with the same girl over several nites, you can get to 20CUC per FS. Still, one spends 75/day in travel expenses and wastes valuable vacation time with such a hunt in order to save 30 CUC. IT doesnt make sense.

The reasons for the high prices in havana are:

A) prostitution is still illegal and being in havana illegally from the oriente is still illegal. Illegal things fetch higher prices.

B) There is a cuban syaing: "EVERYTHING is illegal in Cuba, and everything is done in Cuba. " I guess some things are more illegal than others.

C) the police / or local informants (Cederistas) are less visible but still in the shadows. I think they get a substantial cut. A yuma pays 50 CUC, maybe 25 goes for payoffs.

D) the old cuban communist mentality is: "my time isn't valuable. Yours is. I will negotiate with you for hours to gain an extra $5. In fact, I can wait you out for days to get the 50CUC. "

Is it cheaper in the cities outside of Havana? The answer is no. I met a girl who lived in a town appx 100 miles outside of Havana. When I went to her house the next day, her mother said that she went to the hospital for two weeks in havana. It is funny how her mom knew exactly how long the girl would be "sick" in the hospital. A girl could pide una botella and ride to havana for free (or maybe pay a BJ). She could pay $1-$2/day for her lodging. By sharing with other girls. 2/day for food. She picks up some easy cash. Pays off her bribes to the local lagra and returns home with a bankroll. Of course, even that money must be shared among the family.

The cuban way of life is that everything is shared. She is not working for herself, but for the policia, and the family, and perhaps even a boyfriend or husband at home. If she doesnt work, what happens: she doesnt starve. She will still eat. She still has a place to live (the family home).

Your alternative is to go walking in the barrios for girls that don't encounter extranjeros much and are grateful for the opportunity. If I had a little more time, I may have done that.

Dominican Republic for straight out fucking is the place to go. Now you can do the same in Cuba, but you will need to know the game and scam. If you are newbie, you will not have much time for that. You can have alot of fun if you go with a "Cuban Veteran" from this board who can show you the ropes.

In Dominican Republic there are a bunch of Hotels that are "Adult Entertaiment" Hotel. I have been to them, but if you were to asked me which Bollo I like the best. I have to say the Cuban Bollo. While your question may be easy to answer in a sentence or three, you gotta know that picking up girls in Cuba and the way to do this best, is a book that never ever ends. It's not easy. It takes game, previous experience in the country, Spanish-skills and general wits and smartness.

That said, off course you can get laid, and here's the simple answer:

For chica-friendly casa, just do a google search for 'casa particular cuba', send out your needs to 4-5 different 'agents' and be specific that you want a casa where you can bring girls. They are used to this request and they won't even crack a small smile when they read your mail. I don't use these agencies myself anymore as I now know enough casas, but I have used bedincuba, cubaparticular and destinohabana and had good experiences with them in the past.

Pick up chics: Without speaking Spanish, you'll be limited to the hooker-hot spots, which can be divided up into two main categoris: Street and Disco.

Streets where you can always find girls looking for a yuma: Prado, Parque Central and La Rampa in vedado.

Discos divided into sub-categoris:
Cheap (relatively speaking - sex is not cheap in Cuba compared to living costs there) chicas: Tikoa, other small discos.
Expensive chicas: Casa de la Musica, Salon Rojo etc.
VERY expensive chicas: El Turquino
