Robbed on Perimeter Road
Just a note for all travellers to be super vigilant if walking along Perimeter Road, even during daylight hours. I was robbed of $200 this morning in a quite a simple scam by a couple of trike drivers, a block down from the Brass Knob on the Perimeter.
The scam went like this: First trike driver says "hey friend, you remember me, I was your driver last night". Alarm bell goes off and I should have just kept walking. He then says, "friend, my sister has a massage parlour five minutes from here with about 10 college students". He then shows me a calling card with a photo of sexy pinay. Getting my attention, he then proceeds to give me advice about how many pick pockets there are, particularly at SM Mall and proceeds to show me how they feel your pockets. By this time he has one hand in my pocket and I grab his hand preventing him taking the money. He then calls trike driver #2 for help. His friend arrives and holds my arms while the first guy snatches the $200 out of my pocket and runs.
I call this a lucky escape as I only had a small amount of money in my pocket. My phone, credit cards, wallet and passport were in the hotel safe. I could have fought back, but this is the Philippines, so best to let it go and move on. Unless you are Bruce Lee, you can't take on trike drivers. No point in going to the police either.
A few useful learnings:
1. If a trike driver calls, just keep walking.
2. Don't walk along the Perimeter Road day or night. If the jeeps, trikes and cars don't run you over, the scammers will get you.
3. Wait for the hotel taxi to take you to Fields or pay 100 PHP for a trike ride.
4. Only carry small amounts of cash with you at any time.

I and many have constantly warned about the dangers of Angeles from robberies, shootings to street scams, trike scams, police scams, girl scams etc.
On the other hand a small hardcore of Angeles lovers tell us not to be stupid, these things never happen, Angeles is very very safe for all LOL.
Guys, take care out there, these things are common place, stay at a hotel that offers 24 hour limo service for getting anywhere safely is the best advice that can be given.

Changes at AC
I've been a regular visitor to AC over the years and for the first time I have noticed a slightly menacing feel to the place. It's not the friendly, carefree place we saw say 5-years ago. Here are my observations.
1. Traffic along the Perimeter and Fields Avenue is unbearable. They have installed a traffic light and pedestrian crossing now at the intersection to Clark along Fields Avenue.
2. Definitely more beggars, scammers and touts on the streets.
3. Hotel and restaurant staff are a little more terse and not as accommodating. They have a couldn't care less attitude.
4. When you come out of SM Mall with bags of shopping, local people now just stare.
5. A 3,000 PHP bar fine at any of the big bars on Fields (Atlantis, Doll House, Tropix, Crystal Palace) or indeed the small bars means just short time. The girls agree to LT and then run away at 2. 00 am. I've heard of every excuse in the book. Baby has fever, Aunty has asked me to buy milk powder (at 3. 00 am), I have to help my sister etc. No use in fighting it. Just accept that all bar fines are ST and you won't be disappointed. A few years ago, you literally had to kick the girl out of the room at 8. 00 am. There's a poster on this forum who says he always pays the bar fine after the deed. That is plain bullshit. Unless you are the bar owners son or are related to the district police commissioner, that is just impossible.
6. SM Mall is now packed as never before. Where did all the people come from?
7. Lewis Grand now requires full payment for the entire duration up front. Apparently this is new policy.
8. New hotels are everywhere. Whoever said AC is dying is wrong.
I think local people are getting jaded. Life must be hard and they probably resent foreigners blowing what is an average monthly wage in the PI on two barfines.

I wrote about a similar attempt I experienced on Perimeter Road a few years ago. The differences were: it was a guy riding a scooter; when he tried to touch my pockets I immediately offered to fuck him up; and he did not get a single peso from my stash. There were some other Flips watching from a bar nearby but they wisely did not join in the confrontation. Each man should evaluate their response according to age, physical condition, ability and whether or not the robbers are armed. However, if trike drivers find robbing mongers this easy nowhere in AC will be safe. Sxxxx mentioned a trike driver taking him down an alley away from his destination for a possible robbery, it could be one of these rascals. Anyway, the correct response to anyone calling you 'friend' or claiming to have met you before is to ignore and keep going at a faster pace, run if you can. Also, no one should be crawling the track with more than enough for a bar fine and a few lady drinks.
In the past, I have been mobbed by street urchins while crossing the open area between the jeepney terminal and SM Mall. They were aggressive and rough enough to cause injury to and knock down an elderly guy. They held onto both my arms and tried to get their grimy little hands into my pockets but I tossed two of them into the traffic and the others fled. About a week later an elderly monger was found dead in that area with the street urchins being the primary suspects. Giving them money is illegal and if their handlers take a picture of a monger giving them money he could end up being accused of trying to solicit them. He will then be extorted for a lot more than the few pesos he handed over out of the goodness of his heart. Just do not do it. They ate plenty of rice before foreigners showed up and they will eat a lot more after you are gone.

D Cups. Did not say I didn't believe you in fact am happy to hear the news. All the better if more places keep the BF low or lower it to attract business. BB has long been AC's poor smaller cousin and that's the way I like it. It also hasn't been infested with Ks yet.
Engine Driver. What were you thinking? If anyone calls, especially with remember me? Just keep walking. This was standard 20 years a go and still common today. No need to be a nervous Nellie, but never let your guard down.

I'm old now, and I simply won't take the risk, so I take a hotel car wherever I need to go and I'm usually with at least one friend.

At Engine Drive
In that country, never ever talk with anyone on the street. Maybe a simple No thank you and keep moving.
Anyone that tries to stop you their is not your friend.

Not a blow job.
I agree with the post below which infers the flips seem to be a bit jaded. In my reports I said I thought it was lower than usual low season visitors, equals, lower than usual cash flow, equals, not happy (them).
At Gothic City, sipping a beer, observing Vikings opposite the road. Asked waitress to do a little thing for me, she snapped back: "Its not my job" !
First time in my 40 plus years of whoring in Phils, I have ever received a reply like that. Always they smile and oblige with a little favor and of course you tip them later on.
So next drink I made sure I was served by another waitress, and when I departed made sure I tipped her. Message to 1st waitress: We do not travel to Phils to get the Western World response "its not my job".
And I did not ask her for a blow job either, LOL.
Overall, I had a great time in Phils, but did notice the change in attitude. Not so keen nowadays. Beware, the Western World is coming (to the Phils) LOL.

Scams and letdowns
AC is fun as you get to check the girl out before you BF her. Interview her, ask moma-san questions about her etc. And for 3 k peso you get a quality girl, and if you ask the right questions, you can be pretty sure she will perform ok. I straight out ask her if she will BBBJ, allow DATY, etc etc. If she balks, then walk! It will only cost you 250 P for the interview. And grab her boobs, kiss her, put her hand on your dick right in the bar to see how she acts. Then when you get her to the room, the worst she is to do is to want to leave after a shag. In manila, you are to drop 5 k at least for a girl, that you only get to look at pictures of (online) before you get her to your room. Else spend 7 k for a decent girl out of Havana Cafe etc. Thus AC is the better option.
I kinda got scammed at a massage parlor in AC. At the end of walking street across the street from Mcdonalds there is a massage parlor with a glass door. I had an hour to burn, so I got a massage for 350 p. It was a good massage, then she asked if I wanted a HJ, and I said ok, and she wanted 300. I said ok, then told her to just wack me off a bit, but I didn't want to cum as I wanted to save it for a BF later on. She said fine, but it was all the same price. Fine, but then after 10 minutes of wacking, and when I had to leave, she wanted 600. I said, we agreed to 300, and she said fine, she would call the police. I then walked out to mama san, and the girl said, fine, just pay me 500 p. So I did just to get out of there without the police coming. Fucking scammers!
Also, AC is going Korean. Manila is for the middle easternerrs, and AC is for the Koreans.
My experience is different. I have received refunds of differing types in the past: Full, partials, and offers from mamas / managers to replace the bad girl with another girl. Have also been told NO REFUNDS. Hit / miss. At the very least, I'm going to lodge a complaint with the mama / manager; there is nothing to lose.
I think where a lot of punters go wrong is stalking into a bar, parking themselves & staring.
The approach that works for me has always been to mentally prepare myself to go out & have _FUN_. Dressed in clean fashionable clubbing gear I walk in smiling & relaxed fortified with provisions (money) and head for the mommasan. Buying her & the head waitress 'anything you want' immediately establishes you as a VIP. Spend a little time schmoozing the boss & you'll have girls queuing up to be taken. Repeat this at the same bar & you have easy pickings. It's not unusual to have drilled most of the putas & be getting referrals as you do outside with non pro & amateurs.
As for runners, I've never had one but most of the girls are single mothers so going home at 6 am to relieve the baby sitter is not unreasonable.
Guys who lament the place has changed are right but the internet + huge influx of tourists was inevitably going to do that. You can still have fun in AC but it's not like it was 10 years ag with fresh of the farm girls barebacking all night long. For that you'll need to go to provincial centres.

1500 p
Just left Thursday after a month in AC. Same same as usual. Plenty of women. Not all the best looking but that seems to be every where I go. (don't know how some of you find all 9's and 10's everywhere you go!
Any way. 1500 P at the old Thigh High on Perimeter. Was told it has a new name now but I never noticed. Below average girls but there happened to be one who used to work at Monsoon and I quickly grabbed her up.
All night. 1500 P. Now I must admit that at 70 I don't do to much damage to any pinay any more!. I find the good thing about getting old is. If I get laid tonight it is utterly fantastic. If I don't, oh well no big deal hahahaha.

Filipinos have never loved foreigners but, in the past, they have tolerated us for monetary benefits. However, with Duterte fanning the flames of nationalism and insulting foreign religious and political leaders, Filipinos may simply be following his lead. Tourism has now taken a back seat to the assassination of drug dealers and addicts. Other countries are being blamed for problems in the Philippines so it is only natural that the foreigner has become a target of resentment. More Filipinos are feeling confident about telling foreigners to go fuck themselves Dirty Duterte style. If you are a foreigner and feeling a bit paranoid about the current low in hospitality, it may not all be in your head.
There was a German in an internet cafe writing about his political views on Duterte online. The Filipinos being as nosy as ever peeped at his screen and in a matter of minutes they were chattering away in Flipish about the possibly that the German was a spy for America. He told them he was a German so how they concluded he was an American spy did not make much sense but then again, Filipino gossip is more about sensationalism than logic. Later on, the German decided to humor the Filipinos by telling them they were ugly, he called the security guard by name and told him that he was a particularly ugly fellow. Well, only the German got the joke and the Flip guard wanted to give him a beating. Luckily for the German, the lady who owns the caf persuaded the guard to refrain from giving the German a trashing on account of his age. However, there were some verbal exchanges and they told the German that his blue eyes were ugly and he had pig skin. This seemed to amuse the German and he concluded his business and went on his way with a few more enemies in the Philippines.
Another thing to consider is the pervasive use of shabu in the Philippines. Bar girls use it to stay slim, as a source of energy to do the zombie shuffle all night long, and to inspire courage to perform as a 3-holer back in the hotel room of risqu customers. Trike drivers use it to stay awake and on the prowl for fares or victims from sundown until dawn, shabu fueled death defying drag races are common on Perimeter Road in the hours before first light. Almost every family has an addict or dealer. Now that the threat of the death squads has forced many to quit using shabu cold-turkey, one can expect that many individuals and their families are not too happy dealing with withdrawal symptoms. Drug wars never totally eliminate the drugs targeted they merely reduce supply, increase risk, and drive up prices. This means that hardcore addicts must pay more for their fix. Some dealers may decide to leave the drug trade and take up less risky enterprises like robbing or scamming unsuspecting sex tourists. It would be an easy choice since foreigners rarely report crimes and are usually transient victims.

Subic vs AC
Have to agree, my last trip a couple of months ago the girls were quoting 1800-2000 and hoping in vain someone might take the bait.
Have heard that many bars in barrio are now closing a few days per week due to lack of customers? Maybe that's why they have reduced the barfine to 1500 to try and get some bites?
Barrio for me has always been the poor brother of Angeles when it comes to bars and girls.
Few of the old school Angeles bar owners headed off to barrio some years back in a bid to make it the next Angeles, never even came close IMHO.
To Napa.
I think all the bar work together and raise the price I cannot get the 1500 p price all the bar want 1800 and up and most bar are pushy on the drinks, I have no problem paying more if I can get GFE and decent looking girl like few yr back don't think I will be back to Subic bay any time soon.
