There are 3 things that come into play and I am starting to notice either you have it or your don't. 1. Confidence. 2. Assertiveness. 3. Street smarts. This is not like walking into a store and buying a bottle of water. This shit is illegal. Anyone who has ever been a part of the streets will know that when partaking in illegal activities there will always be scammers (so why is that such a shokcer? And 9 times out of 10 a scammer can spot a mark or victim 50 meters away. How do you keep from being seen or tested as a mark? I have no idea, for I have never had that problem. You will see people all over ISG saying to dress like a local and etcetera. But no matter what you wear, people know you are not from the place you are mongering.

Why is it that WestCoast can walk in and get his bar fine returned or an alternative 9 times out of 10, while Napa's friends get the crap beat out of them for even bringing up the idea? What is the reason that I can get a chick from a bar and pay after when Engine Driver swears it would take an act of god to do that? Why is it that Engine Driver says to pay a trike driver 100 pesos when I have never given a trike driver more than 80 pesos going even as far as Dau terminal and have never been hinted at paying 1 peso more? Why is it that SouthEaster is aware that when you are in a foreign country where nobody fucking knows you and somebody calls out to you "Friend" to not even look their way? Why is it that VicVeg will let a chick extort him for 500 pesos when another monger would have invited the girl to call the police? Who are they going to listen to, a foreigner with a pocket full of money or a chick jacking dicks in a massage shop? At the least I would have had the police come and handed THEM 500 pesos as I laughed at the dumb broad and walked out.

I am also reminded of a few months ago when I bought some toys for my niece and nephew from a street vendor in Pattaya. The guy had a sign with the prices on it. I secured the price I wanted to pay and bought the stuff from the guy. Then the guy showed me the other side of the sign with increased prices for those he thought would be easy prey. We both laughed. Could be the same reason the Cups was able to get a girl for 1500 when another poster is saying the girl should have cost him way more.

It all boils down to each of us having differing degrees of confidence, assertiveness, and street smarts. It is pretty much impossible for any of this to be taught to a person over a blogsite. All each of us can do is report our individual experiences. But telling someone else that their experience is bullshit is ridiculous. It is what it is.

Some I agree with, some I disagree with, some I find very dangerous.

The main one is tell the girl to call the police in a dispute, my friend, police and girl scam disputes aimed at extorting foreigners cost thousands of dollars to get out of, your 500 pisos offer of payment would possibly buy you a cup of coffee while in the police cell phoning around to find the dollars to get the fuck out of that hell hole.

If one becomes a mark for robbery / extortion / being shot dead no amount of bravery. Confidence or anything else is going to change a single thing, as said, we are in their play ground, we are the strangers with no rights, that's just fact.

My approach is very different from ME's, in that I prefer to pay for ALL my pussy. I have no desire to play any game of swagger. I prefer all my pussy to understand its purpose and its reward, and the time the reward will be collected. I find this arrangement to be much more sure-fire, fewer misses on the evenings. When I go to any regular bar (not a girly gogo bar) in phils, or even here at home with friends, or any disco here or there, I'm never looking to get laid. I'm just out for a nice time. When I want poon, I will use my phone (for repeats), or laptop, or a gogo bar or other service especially designed for such. If you were to ever see me in Skytracks Disco, while I might be chatting a girl that I met there (probably not, the only reason I'd go there is with a date who liked the place), even if she were on the hunt, there would be little chance that she (or any other girl in the disco) and I would end up together. I have taken full refunds several times just prior to leaving the bar with a girl (she had changed into street clothes, then one or another odd thing killed the deal). I have received partial refunds several times due to a problem with the girl. I have been offered (either that night, or the next day) a different girl than the problem girl. I have also been rejected completely several times: "No refund"!

My method is not to be confident or tough, it is to be clear, up-front, with the girl and the bar. Also, feel free to ask the mama what the bar's refund policy is (jeez, it ain't rocket science). Any mama or waitress that says "I dunno" or "No refunds", you need to get out of there, and never go in there again. In one bar, when a girl ran (I went back the same night), the mama told me to come back tomorrow and see the Aussie manager, that he was not there at the time. When I went back about 11 am (as told), and explained the situation, the manager asked me to follow him. We stepped into the CR, he pulled out a wad of money, gave me back half the barfine and said "G'day". The CR: Isn't that odd?

There are worse ways to kill a few hours than to attend the Score Birds Pool Party. The whole thing is ridiculous beyond belief, but it is pure light hearted entertainment. For a 500 PHP entry charge (which includes three drinks and a nice lunch buffet), you can sit with other like minded foreigners and watch a bikini parade with various competing bar girls. The competing bars are all part of the same ownership group as is the Score Birds Hotel. The entire show is stage managed to within an inch of its life, but it is hilarious.

The buffet lunch is delicious and one of the best meals I've had in AC.

If anyone named a hotel "Score Birds" in my home country, the PC brigade or hand bag hit squad would have you jailed within 24 hours. Only in AC!

Why does Dollhouse have their stage so crowded with girls you can't view and sort them out? Why does one group stay on stage so long it takes two beers' time to wait out until the better group gets up there? When they come off stage, why do the girls run and hide instead of staying where the customers can get a good look at them for selection purposes? Why don't the waitresses (most all of them) know anything helpful and are completely clueless regarding the merchandise?
