India is an expensive place for mongering
not to mention those indian peanut sellers. wtf, i see those knuckleheads everywhere i'm eating. i'm sitting there having a meal, they come up to me and just stand there. there product line is awful too. if they had chocolate covered raisins, i might bite lol
talking of indian girls, they are definitely worth spending you money on, but having lived there and having a continuous business association there, i can give my 2 cents to the forum here. indian brothels are definitely not worth visting, you get ripped off and most importantly being a foreigner, you can become easy target of police, who are definitely in the game to squeeze as much money as possible from the hookers. please remember that prostitution is illegal in india and it is strictly enforced on foreigners. please keep away from the red light districts. most red light districts are in the worst districts of the city and are very unmaintained.
if you want to monger you have to go though the usual pimps and 5 star hotel routes. most sessions will cost you 300 usd upwards + the hotel expenses. but you get a bevy of beauties to choose from. my own experience has been very good, after getting bored of the usual asians (i meant the chinese looking ones) the indian girls are definitely a welcome change.
because of the high costs there and the general lack of upkeep and hygiene in many indian brothels, you will find so many indians tourists in bangkok and prices to and fro from bangkok are rock bottom.
the value of indian rupee being even lower than bahts, most choose to get the lowest valued hookers in thailand. which is similar to thai men with their limited budget. (well not all thai men can afford the hi end thai only establishments)
about the peanut sellers, please do not associate them with indians, they are from the lowest of classes in india, and they have been following a business route set up by a few before them and they come here to earn and go back. seriously they are the worst of the lot. atleast the cheap tourists (not only from india, but from all countries) have enough to pay their mongering activities. these peanut sellers are just here to survive.
I recant my previous statement on Thai Food!
Tony you are a cheapo capable of eating only on the streets, so you deserve all the pests and beggars of the society. Stop complaining, go to a air conditioned restaurant.
Haha. Good one there Asslove. This time it was after watching the Dark Knight Rises and my GF took me to a Thai restauarant close to Rama 9. I was the only non-thai there and lo and behold one of these peanut sellers approaches us with his crappy assortment of nuts. If they are indeed the lowest of low, its pretty nice of these Thai restaurants to allow them to solicit. I couldn't imagine sitting at Applebees in the US and in comes an illegal Guatemalan selling crappy walnuts or whatever it may be.
Anyways. I've been eating a lot more at the traditional thai restaurants and its much much better than most of that crappy street food. Love the style where everyone shares the food in the middle but I have to control myself not to bogart all the food LOL.
I still only eat with either chopsticks or a fork. I think Thais must be ambidextrous to do that fork and spoon routine hehe.
