In your experience is there a month / s when you don't recommend Scandallo or to make It easier when its absolutely most recommended during the year? Of course weather can be a factor?
Is there a way to get the write ups below by Socrates to be put on the top of this thread as a sticky that newbies can refer to without looking for this information?

On my first day in SP, on Wednesday, I went to Scandallo. Everything was as described in forum. I never imagined so many beautiful girls in one place. The girl I took to the hotel, show me nice non-alcoholic drink. It's called something like "tea from Fazenda". Similar to Thai ice tea, tea with milk, lemon and ginger. Very nice non-alcoholic alternative to soda.
Yesterday, I went to Casarao. Its like medium-level nightclub full of all sorts of girls. I was from11:30 till 12:30 and ratio of girls to men was 2-3:1. Girls are not groomed as Scandallo girls, but in some sende more natural. The worst part of Casarao is hotel. I was in are $100 room. I know there are are $50 rooms, bit I do not know how to make it smaller. Also, a window in the shower to the corridor looks very strange.

I think the RODs is good enough. That's where all newbies should go first before asking a bunch of endless questions, the answers to which usually have already been answered time and time again. Thoroughly educate yourself first, then ask informed questions, and people will be happy to help you.

One option is to highlight useful reports by adding it to "Reports of Distinction" (ROD). Reading RODs is the easiest and faster way to find most important and useful reports without reading through tons of pages.

I have already mentioned before I use to rent rooms for long stays in shared houses called "republicas". Not the ones in downtown but very close to universities. It's a fantastic cultural experience as you may imagine because you can interact with locals, mostly civilian workers, students, cops, escorts, teachers, etc. In their daily lives. The rooms have a monthly reasonable price. I paid are R2000 for the month with private bathroom they call "suite" hahaha very funny.
Well, most of the houses will let you bring visits but you have to announce them with the owner of the house. The last time I stayed almost one month in a Republica and behaved very well, until the very last night I decided to break the rules hehehehe.
So, I arrenged with two gorgeous brunettes, one of them I met in Bomboa and we had very good chemestry. In order not to bring too much attention we scheluded our encounter very late a Wednesday night, around midnight. The girls arrived in the car of the brunette from Bomboa, we talked a few minutes inside the car where she introduced me to her friend. Generally, there are more girls and hotter girls from September / October to / May / June.
The reason is mainly two fold. 1) Summer time in the US and Europe is Brazilian winter so it's colder in Brazil 2) Many of the hotter girls travel between May and September to Europe where weather is nicer. It can be on their own dime or as arm candy for rich clients. Other girls choose this time to work overseas as more tourists are traveling to Europe, ME or Asia during US summer months.
Also it's wild at Scandallo during F1 week in November as well as NFL week in September.

One is born in Northern Europe and we stayed in the same room in a hostel right near the trail head. At that time, I did not know her mother is Brazilian. In the evening she came up to me like a kid telling me "We set our alarm clock at 2 AM" to go hiking at 3 AM. They were 2 of them in my room. She then invited me to go with them. I did not eat dinner and just went to bed like them so I can get enough sleep. It turned out to be a trip of the lifetime. I can only tell you what my friend told me after seeing the photos I took is that we arrived at the golden hour. Brazillians can be extremely warm even to strangers. The other two girls I met were similarly friendly. She asked about my travel plan and that was when she told me her mother is from Brazil when I mentioned Brazil. I thought that explains why she was so friendly.

Before I went to Patagonia, I met this one on the street. She claimed to be a college student needing money. She said she would do anything I want but then told me the sex would be covered later or just the first time. I did not like the lie. She behaved somewhat like a working girl but I think she is not because where could she find work? We were oing to have sex once before but she brough a friend and her friend would hide in my bathroom so she won't interfere. I refused. This used to happen regularly in the city where I live in US. Do you speak Portugese?[/QUOTE]I speak beginner Portuguese. I really should be more fluent considering how many times and days I've been in Brazil the past 5 yesrs. But I don't practice much when at home as I am too busy. I am also spoiled as all my co workers speak English and they act as translators when needed.
I can understand more than I can speak and I get by with speaking Portuanol. Half Spanish and half Portuguese.
But the first few years, I used mostly translator in Scandallo. The girls I met are usually patient and familiar with its usage.
Some guys don't want to put the effort into using it or find it awkward or felt shame using it. I didn't. It just depends on how much effort you put forward.
I've spent 24-48 hours with countless girls where 80% of our conversation was with Google translate. We would go out to dinner, clubbing, do tourist stuff etc.
Google translate conversation mode is especially powerful in a quiet environment like your hotel room. You can just leave it on auto and carry a pretty fluid conversation. As long as both parties don't speak too much at once and they wait for the translation to finish and speak after the beep.
With that said, does it help if you speak fluent Portuguese? Of course. In many cases, they are more relaxed and comfortable. But you can get them into that mood if you are charismatic, treat them with respect, etc.
