And I would NOT bet the farm on her completing her term (the support of the Church is the ONLY thing keeping her in power). She has some other "GMA Cares" priority projects that are terrific, like the improvement of the Halsema Highway from Baguio to Mountain Province, one of the World's Great drives. Drove in it a KIA last month; when I did it in the mid 90s you needed a high clearance 4X4 and it took much longer.

In response to the Thailover who posted this: In Manilla I went to EDSA Complex: a few gogo bars with ugly girls. 500p Barfine +2500p ST or 4000 LT. A total rip-off!
Reasonable minds can differ as to attractiveness (I see lots of nice ones at EDSA), but these prices he quotes lack accuracy. The BF is 1000 and LT is 2000 (unless they don't like you; I have never paid more). Doing LT with a 1000P BF makes little sense. For ST, LA Cafe is superior as it is 1000-1500P TOTAL (no BF).

Instead of flying into Manila and hopping a ride to AC it will be Fly into AC and hop a ride some place else.
In other words, it will kill the scene as we know it.

I can confirm the post by Bamboo Pete regarding hotels I have been trying to book the Oasis hotel and they just don't reply, I have tried Pacific breeze (now on a waiting list) and also Central park, waiting for a reply from Clarkton.
I need to book quick before I loose out on the flights I really wanted to try Angeles but I am worried it maybe Songkran for me.

To be honest, in the near future I don't think so. Early April's fool maybe.
There is no terminal with fingers, nowadays they have somewhat around 6 counters for immigration,
one belt only for the luggage, if I'm not mistaken. (I never travel with check-in luggage)
They are overloaded already with an A320 and a Boeing 737 arriving within 15 minutes.
The runway is long enough for huge planes, but all the facilities aren't there.

Pretty is a matter of opinion. I like them.
As far as being safe alone...well I went alone on my first trip, and my second, and my third, and I'm about to on my fourth tomorrow. It's fine. Check out Wayne's map to get the lay of the land in relation to your hotel. Use common sense once you're there. You'll be able to tell which areas are touristy and which aren't. Avoid the ones that aren't and you'll be fine.
And have fun! I know you will. I really want to take someone on their cherry trip sometime. I have a friend here that's dying to go, but he always has a scheduling conflict.

I checked out the Friendship Highway bars and they are not bad for a change. There are just two remaining , Jolly Frog and Lucius. Both offered 800 for ST and 1100 for BF, and they would give you a sample BBBJ in the bar. The policy of these two bars couldn't be more different. While you can sit and select in Jolly Frog , in Lucius you will be immediatelly approached by 2-3 girls and their hands go straight to your pants. I liked the line up in Lucius more , but ended up behind the "Spanish wall" in Jolly Frog. You can still watch the dancers while you get sucked.

You're right. It won't be for a while, but it will happen. Cebu Pacific is complaining now about not getting landing rights for their overseas flights.
It will probably make the Subic expressway seem like an overnight construction job.

All sorted now for my upcoming trip, was originally going to fly into Clark with Tiger from Singapore but when I tried to book, it wouldn't take my card (I tried 3 all good ones).
So for an extra £45 booked with Singapore airlines to Manilla, Any tips in getting from Manila to AC would be helpful I have read about the Swagman bus in previous post.
I originally wanted to stay at the Oasis but they were very slow in responding to my emails so now booked in the Clarkton.
I will be reading this forum daily until my flight to learn all I can, I will miss my Pattaya trip this year but I should be avoiding all the knuckle draggers in AC.
I will be bringing plenty of vitamin V just in case I happen to find a girlfriend or 2.

I was reading this forum now for more than 1 hour, but couldn't get the answers I'm looking for. Therefore I post my questions here:
I'm a first timer to AC and will be there in May 2008. Now my questions are:
Can you recommend me any hotels, which are close the action or right in the middle are good value and costs around 20.30 US$ (or do they cost more, since I assumed the same prices like in Pattaya? ) are of course GF have a pick up service from the airport in Manila have a website
How can I get from Manila airport to AC the fastest way? Are there any buses from the airport? Or do I have to go to the bus terminal?
Any help is highly appreciated!
