I am going to SPB in July / August and any recommendations for private pick ups (& maybe English classifieds) very much welcome.
My Russian is very very basic. But I believe I could express what I want and negotiate.

Am currently spending a few days in SPB in Park Inn Pulkowskaya hotel, and the activity at the hotel bar has been leaving me quite confused so far.
On late evenings there are usually 1-3 single ladies in the bar, but they seem completely uninterested in the male patrons. One is usually standing at the bar, chatting with the service staff, another one sitting in a dark corner.
Yesterday I stood at the bar ordering a drink, when a lady just came in and chatted me up, introducing herself as Maria. After 5 min of friendly banter, when I expected a sales proposition she just excused herself, saying she had something to discuss with her friend. Then she joined the girl in the dark corner and didn't come back.
Do they work in a different sector? (Maria claimed to do tours of SPB by night.) Does the hotel have a strict no-approach policy for them? But then: why wouldn't they even give anyone the look?
I'd highly appreciate advice from more experienced SPB visitors!

I'm considering visiting SPB during the White Nights festival in June. What I've read about mongering in SPB here in the forum has me thinking I shouldn't even try to monger while I'm there.

They expect men to be forward. Do not be shy about asking them, just don't be crude about it either. Say something like "I was looking for companionship for the evening. " If they are in the game they will let you know. If they are not they will also let you know and if you were polite about it you'll most likely get a "Nyet".

What puts you off mongering in spb? It's a long time since I did as I mainly play with my porn girls but I wouldn't say to anyone don't. There are pitfalls but you probably know them all by reading the forum.

But I'm open to mongering in SPB. Perhaps I should RTFF a little more closely. Hell, I've only got 2 1/2 months to do so!

CS.[/QUOTE]Yes. However it wasn't the best place I been to in the world, not a by a mile. But it was decent enough. And I reckon that with some local help and not being there during a big holiday will make life much much easier. There are many possibilities there, just hard to unlock.
The best salon chains in Petersburg seem to be:
- Karamelki. The classic. Lots of French kissing and good sex.
- Nezabudki. One branch is on Nevskiy prospekt near Mayakovskaya metro station, 50 meters from Hotel Corinthia. Another branch at each end of Nevskiy. Pretty girls with beautiful bodies, perfect breasts in various sizes, good service. Nice large rooms and beds at Mayakovskaya and many short skinny girls.
- Markiza. Similar to Karamelki. Many girls happily French-kissed me. Girls at Fontanka branch not so attractive, though one was a beauty.
All have websites. Sometimes they are blocked, but then you can access them via free online proxy server.
The standard rate most places now seems to be RUB 3000, including DATY. If you want BBBJ its RUB 1000 extra.
Girls are next-door types or more attractive. Sometimes a bit older, sometimes young. Service is variable, but often excellent. There is a lot more "soul" than in the Romanian robots that populate German FKKs. Russian language skills is a big advantage. See my previous detailed post on how to go to salons in Petersburg. Many girls appreciate good DATY.
Petersburg high season (for tourists) now seems to be mid-April through October. During this period everything is more expensive and hotels tend to be fully booked. The city is nicer during this period (especially June-Aug.), but for the budget-conscious mongerer the winter months may be better.
