Pulled the plug today and bought my ticket to Africa. It's my first time to the continent and I can't wait!

I will arrive at the very end of Feb '14. I'm splitting a total of 11 nights between Nairobi and Mombasa.

I have read over 100 pages of info on the places, but curious if anyone cares to share their opinion of how best to divide the time. My plan is to first stay 5 nights in Nairobi then 6 nights in Mombasa. If anyone finds flaws in my plans, I beg of you to share your knowledge. Please note, I'm flying back to the USA via Mombasa. There's no changing this.

My hotel of choice for Mombasa is Kahama hotel.

For Nairobi, I'm leaning toward Kenya Comfort Hotel because of the location, gf, and cost. I'm also looking at Natural Oak Apartments and Hotel Central Park. If someone has a good recommendation, I deeply appreciate the assistance.

Now the hard part is waiting almost three months to leave. I don't have to worry about having time to gather info! LOL

LOL[/QUOTE]I would reduce my time in Nairobi by at least 2 or 3 days and add them to your stay in Mombasa. Some might urge you to completely skip Nairobi, but since it is your first time I think Nairobi will provide a valuable experience providing you go out to the various excellent museums and historical venues.

Also, there's nothing wrong with the hotels you've chosen. I especially like Kahama....make sure you go to Il Covo, a great beach front Italian restaurant about a 5 minute walk from Kahama, for one of their disco nights. Magical things can happen.
