Probably heading to Tijuana either Friday or Saturday evenings. Just wondering if anyone has been down there on 4th of July weekend. I went down on Sat on Memorial day weekend. Headed back that evening & thankfully the line was not long.
I have total wireless which is on the Verison network. I can't get any signal even when I am close to the border control point. Pure trash.
Yep. Verizon kind of sucks down there. Next time I am getting a Sim card from Mexico for my Verizon Android phone.
Gregyyr.
You are right we have the same taste for women. She looks very hot.
Will look for her with her curly long hair.
When I went to do a teeth cleaning I didn't have an appointment (which is required) per the border guard to go across.
What are the other reasons gringo's are crossing the border by foot during these Covid times. I do have friends who live down there. Can I just say I am visiting them?? I do have an address and all.
If you live in San Diego county and are regularly in Tijuana zona norte then only buy a 180 days visa (6 months) for $ 30 and always go through the gate for Mexicans. Show your visa to a Mexican border agent and there are no questions or problems. Easy.
I am going for a tour of Mexico in August / September flying all direct flights out of Tijuana real cheap, each leg is about 2 hours non stop, all for $240, spending a couple days in each of 5 cities with lots of hot girls, fun parties and sexy sights.
Search SKYSCANNER.COM. Mexican airlines fly fairly new B737 and A320. Unless the crews are world-class retards who flew for the emperor of Japan, they should not crash:
TIJUANA to MEXICO CITY Sight seeing, world-class food lots of hot escorts Seeking, Tinder and Twitter girls.
MEXICO CITY to CANCUN Hot girls in downtown casas, Snorkeling, diving, Tulum and Chitchen Itza Mayan ruins.
CANCUN to CHIAPAS Palengue ruin recently discovered, Guatemala border with lots of hot chicks, spicy food.
CHIAPAS to GUADALAJARA, beautiful colonial architecture, lots of beautiful Euro-like girls, lots of hot mesajes.
GUADALAJARA to CABO SAN LUCAS / SAN JOSE DEL CABO Lots of hot chicks and fun partying, big game fishing, bring a big cooler, take home hundreds of fresh frozen Mahi Mahi, tunas, marlins.
S J del CABO to TIJUANA Spend a day partying with hot bar and street girls in Tijuana before going home.
Let me know if you want to go.
Dang. Thought you meant $240 per leg not total!
Guadalajara is on my bucket list if it falls over a weekend would be great to go. Basically I am trying to conserve my vacation days so always but them up against a weekend and take off a Thursday Friday or Friday Monday etc. Will keep in touch to talk further.
Long time no see. I am trying to hatch out a plan.
Both of my parents died who I lived with since 1999. Their health started to fail in late 2016, early 2017. My mother passed Sept of 2018, My step father March of 2020.
The house has been sold. My sister and myself will be moving out by August 1st or maybe a little sooner. I have my Second Draw PPP money and want to save the majority of it. So instead of renting a cheap apartment in LA County (the lowest I found was Lancaster for just under $700 a month for 1 bedroom), I thought hey, why not just hang out in Tijuana for awhile? I haven't been down since about 2017 so while I'm sure some things have changed, other things haven't.
The main reason for doing this is; My BK isn't quite two years old so I don't qualify for any FHA or USDA programs until that point which is Sept 2021. My next business is best run out of a house, townhouse or condo with two car garage because I have two cars and likey adding another. I may have to move to Las Vegas or Phoenix to get the kind of pricing I want but that's for another thread.
So my questions are -.
Any use Airbnb in Tijuana? Any other affordable options exist (fully furnished)?
What sort of flights are available directly from Tijuana? I think I want to scamper over to Costa Rica, maybe fly to Mexico City and then onto Argentina or Brazil?
I had envisioned working the San Diego area for Ubereats so I would have my car with me, please keep that in mind. It's not super expensive (Kia Forte GT) but if there's covered, secure parking on the US side I may opt for that.
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
For those people who have Sentri and drive across to Tijuana and the bars. Where is Sentri driving lane located in Otay Mesa? Went over last weekend and ended up in the regular lanes. Lucky for us that regular lanes were short, waited about 20 minutes. We saw the Sentri lane to the far right of us. Didn't see any signs or markings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Fryer.

I would definitely go early in the day.
What is your furnished apartment price budget per month?
Ideally maybe half of what the lowest I've seen in LA County which is Lancaster ($689).
A quick search of Airbnb turned up around that, maybe a little more. Agua Caliente or Zona Rio?
Thanks Artistyp, like I said long time no see.
P.S. - I know some don't like doing things the hard way but have any of you been able to hook up with any of middle class and up in Tijuana?

Fryer.
I usually type "Otay Mesa Sentri Lane" on my Google map and it always take me to the right direction.
Half of that would be around $350. You can find an apartment for that money and possibly furnished but don't expect much in the way of furnishing. For that kind on money you are better off looking with boots on the ground and a local cell phone.
If you told me your monthly budget was in the $600/700 range you would be directed to a few of these yuppie all inclusive condo buildings going up. Some go up to $2 K a month but some studios can be had for much less.
I'd also say $350 gets you much more in the colonias. In centro that money will get you a 1 bedroom.
I would work out a deal with Hotel Leyva or Hacienda for a month or two while you look. Both those extended stay hotels are in your price range and in Zona Norte. You can do the same in a few other hotels around town as well. Have cash know where you want to stay and make an offer.
As far as dating middle class in TJ . The trick would be to present YOURSELF as middle class or above :) Most middle class Mexicans in TJ look down on American tourists or assume the negative stereotype . What would any decent middle class American be doing in TJ ? :) If anything "business" would be the best alibi. General tourism sounds flakey ..... " not with my daughter ! " :)

Fryer.
The SENTRI lane is accessed from Bellas Artes. The entrance is immediately east of the "Regular Lane" overpass. Driving east you'll get into the left turn bay under the overpass. Driving west you'll turn right, just past the OXXO. There is a car wash on the NW corner of the entrance.

Most airports charge about 400 pesos per passenger for TUA airport departure fee for the use of the airport, roughly the same for both domestic and international flights, payable to the airlines in the ticket, at check in or at the counter, connecting passengers exempted.
Add about $20 TUA for each domestic flight segment Passengers leaving Mexico have to pay additional roughly 1,200 pesos departure fee.
