Stayed at Cascadas this past Mexican Independence Day weekend. Just some general observations:

1) Noticed that the VIP card has very recently increased from $60 to $70 for 3 months. Cash deposit on the cheapest room is now $40.

2) All of the new elevators in Cascadas are now fully operational (they weren't on my last trip back in May).

3) As mentioned in some other posts, there's some major construction going on in the road right in front of HK / Cascadas. Actually makes it a bit easier to cross the street (to Tropical) since there's a lot less traffic coming through that street as a result. The taco stand is still in the same place despite the construction work.

4) Had a chica I've known for a few years come up to my room during her HK shift and was told by a mesero that accompanied her to my door that I had to pay for 5 drinks ($55) for her to come into my room. Kinda pissed me off as that's never happened before. Have known this chica for a while and have always been able to text and get her to come up to my room during her shift with no issues, no mesero accompanying her, no payment necessary. So that was surprising and she said she was surprised by it as well given that she's never had problems coming to see me in the past. Did have a chica from Chicago come up to my room a couple days or so later who was also accompanied by a mesero, but there was no mention of payment. Unless they change the rules this very Month, which doesn't make sense, during her shift she is free to see clients in Cas and Rizo for an hour. What they will make you buy fichas is if you saw her outside of her shift and she comes to Cas to see you. If she came to Rizo you don't need to buy a fitcha even if she is off her HK shift.
