I always thought the chicks on Av Atlantica was a bad idea, but since I now know a couple of chicks that work there should I feel different? Maybe it is because I am used to seeing chicks I have no desire to fuck along with some transvestites that turn me off from the idea. This is a picture of a chick that I posted about a couple of months back. I used to fuck her 15 years ago from Meia Pataca/Help, and recently ran into her working Av At. If you go right before or a little after dark, its still pretty safe to take the public bus. But if you go there, say at 9 pm or later, its better to take uber. She used to dress slutty and hung around with her crew of few other girls. It sad how these ex-Help ladies passed their prime. I bet all the Help / TA ladies are in their late 30's or 40 by now. Their shelf life is only about 15 years and there is no retirement benefit package. Only really smart girls are able to understand this phenomena and try to save as much money as they can during their prime youthful years so it can support them financially once the looks and youth fades out. I bet she got teenage kids by now. I saw a documentary where pornstars made a lot of money during their prime but end up broke at the age of 40 and started working on a minimum wage.

A few years ago, it seemed like every other month, another help girl was getting married to a Chicago police officer and moving to the states. I can't tell you how many former girls I have in my whatsapp that are married and living in the states. (About 90% of the ones I know were still living the same copa lifestyle. Either they danced in a strip club, became escorts or would make side money by calling up former clients and fucking them for money while their husbands are at work).

Only once in a blue moon do I see former Hoe Triangle girls still working in Copa, very rare. Hell, at the end if the day, they can always go back to the favela and marry a brazilian.

Visited about 6 months ago, about 6 times in total.

They had about 6 girls available and about 10 girls total.

All girls dress in white, mostly colorful thongs underneath. All are shaved and very pretty.

Tried Bia, Bianca, Dana, Violet, etc.

The place is easy to find, and the reception is sympathetic.

Recommend![/QUOTE]I think I have finally been to most of the casas in Centro and now am making my way down to zona sul and barra. I visited COPA 583 for the first time 2 days ago. Not a bad place. They actually have a nice room where all clients go to to wait for the presentation (like the clinicas in sao paulo). The selection of girls are decent, mostly 6-7, and they all seem very professional. COPA 583 reminds me of Bel Prazer for some reason. I have a hunch that they are owned by the same owner. The white tops and leggings are nice and give the casa a more professional look. But I personally prefer no dress code. I love seeing girls in their individual underwear and lingerie. I even got surprised by a couple girls who decided to go topless. LOL.

I also recommend this place. The overall experience didn't feel rushed and the receptionist wasn't pushy at all.

Just wondered if any of you regulars speak very little Portuguese or none at all? If so do you still enjoy Rio?

Really want to try Rio in September but worried about the language barrier.

Been to Colombia and whilst I did enjoy it, I found language barrier frustrating. I didn't find it too much of a problem with the girls, because I only like ST and used Google translate but had trouble everywhere else. For example I found it difficult trying to communicate with the cleaner and getting my laundry done etc but mainly whilst ordering food in restaurants as unfortunately I'm a very picky eater.

Do many of the restaurants in the tourist spots have staff who speak English. I'd love to learn Portuguese but I'm hopeless at picking up languages.

Next, I hired a Brazilian driver who spoke only Portuguese since by this time I knew the basics. I enjoy Brazil more now that I am fluent and don't have those sad moments when you at dinner with a beautiful woman and you can't even talk with her. But, I still enjoyed Brazil when I did not speak Portuguese, so go for it.

My advice about the restaurants is to use Google and Bing to translate your preferences and print them out for the waiters and staff. The translators have gotten very good, especially with simple terms. A long time ago, I met a beautiful French Canadian on a beach in Florida and told her to stay put while I ran to the bookstore and bought a French-English dictionary. She thought it was sweet. Hotels have English speakers, sometimes the restaurants also. Do not expect anyone else to speak English other than receptionists at the terma.

The restaurants will have someone who can speak enough English, some even have menus in English. You'll get a rough idea even if it's lost in translation. At smaller places, may not. There are Rio regulars, who have been coming here for years and Still do Not speak Portuguese. BTW, Any chica you run into, that speaks English, will be a Hardened Pro unfortunately. I think, Being a Picky eater may be More of a problem for you. But there are McD's, BK, Outback and other US based food joints to keep your belly full. Safe travels.

As I recently posted in the SP thread, global travelers should pick up a language book or visit some language websites for an hour or two. In the Brazil category here, there is thread devoted to sexual and other words and phrases.

As far as food, Copacabana and Ipanema are world class tourist destinations. You can literally find any food you desire. Menus are usually in both Portuguese and English near the beach. If you are one of those eaters that has to have everything prepared a certain way, you're probably fucked. But hey, that's why you're in Rio.
