I got in to the room and the girl took my clothes off and started to give me a massage, I told her we don't need to do the massage part lets get down to business, she said "do massage first" (which should have been a warning sign for me). Anyway, she put some cream on, gave me a really bad massage for 15 minutes, then pointed to my dick, I asked "Boom Boom?" she said ok give me tip, I gave her 500.000 dong. She kept her clothes and started giving me a hand job, and I moved in for more which she refused. I told her but we said "boom boom" and she kept denying it. I said this is too expensive for a hand-job, I'm not interested in that, can I have half of my money back and leave? (Which I did not expect to get by the way). She said "ok, wait here" and left the room. I got dressed in the meantime, and after about a minute 4 men entered my room and demanded that I pay more money. I asked why? They then proceeded to get closer and more intimidating stating that I had to pay for the cream she used for the massage and that I owed them 2 million dong more, which I didn't have on me. I pretty much emptied my wallet which was 300.000 dong more and this wasn't really enough for them and the situation got very very uncomfortable with them shouting that I had to give them dollars. Fortunately for me I had a little bit of foreign currency (about 300.000 dong more equivalent) that I gave them which seemed to satisfy them and they let me leave.

It feels like it could have gone a lot worse for me, and they didn't get away with too much money from me (like 100 USD in total?), what was worse was the feeling of helplessness you got when 4 pretty big men surrounding you in there when you were looking to have some fun.

So yeah, my misconception was that I thought as long as you were nice and generous it would just be easier for them to give you what you paid for instead of causing trouble for you.

I'm attaching a picture of the area in Hanoi where this happened, the store had a big yellow massage sign with maybe blue (text if I remember correctly. I wasn't that impressed with Vietnam to this point (I prefer Thailand 10 xx) this was probably the event that made me decide never to return there.

Further more, almost all the local fun places (karaoke, Massage, hotels.) are under police protection (bribery) to operate. So it is very safe, at least in big cities like Hanoi / HoChiMinh / Danang / Hai Phong.

1/ Cheapest option to have fun with local Vietnamese girl is:

- go to motels / restaurant where they have girls available: these type of setup are only available in small, rural cities / town like: B Xy D ng in & S N (H I Phng city), or Qut Lm (Nam & nh City). Girls are very cheap, from $10-20 $ for 1 shot.
