That time of night the ride into the city usually takes about 20 to 25 minutes, although sometimes late-night traffic can be heavy on Sukhumvit Road, which can add another 15 minutes or so until you're actually at the Marriott.

I usually arrive that time of night. Works out great. You should be checking in at the JW just after midnight (40 minutes from landing through Immigration and another 30 minutes max to your hotel.

When I was there in Jan/Feb, closing times everywhere in the Suk area were around 2am. That may have changed since then. If you get in at 11pm, you could be sitting in a gogo or bar, sipping a beer and making your pick by about 1am, sooner if you rush it.
Maybe someone could give a rundown of current closing times at some of the more user-friendly venues:
1. Nana
2. Soi Cowboy
3. Thermae
4. Biergarten
5. Nana Car Park (is this still good? it was pretty damn good when i was there in Jan/Feb, around 2-3am) This was a good spot right when everything else closed, that's when it got most active -- much cheaper than NEP and SC too
