Read my post again Enternational. I said I spoke grammatically correct English with my ex-girlfriend, not baby babble. With respect to speaking to Thai bar girls, I intentionally left out the word "loud". And I said I vary my speaking style based on how fluent the listener is. If I were in Celia's shoes, I would have never used baby babble unless you had a 200 word or less Spanish vocabulary.
In Latin America this is not an issue for me because I speak Spanish and don't give English lessons. But it's not my goal, for example, to teach Asian bar girls who never graduated from high school and who I'll never see again how to speak better English. That's something we probably disagree about.
