Rooms are smaller. Air conditioner unit is loud, and it is right above the bed. Like most Mercure's, the windows are not soundproofed, so you hear traffic and plane noise.

It turned out that I preferred the Renaissance over the JW, but I still enjoyed my stay at the JW and I have no regrets having stayed there on points.

There is no question that not having room service is a downer which why I mentioned it in my review of the Marriott Executive, the Grand Mercure SP Itaim Bibi, as well as the Clarion Hotel Faria Lima. Thus, whenever I stay at any of these 3 hotels, I make do, meaning my favorite girl and I order delivery, or we go out for dinner which we do anyway at least 60% of the time because after a night or two room service at any hotel gets old. Our favorite restaurants are Nakka in either Jardin or Itaim Bibi, Kosushi, and Restaurante Banzeiro. Both Nakka restaurants know us well and the matre de' at either location knows our preferred table. I really dig Banzeiro too. Their Tambaqui Ribs (Amazon River fish ribs) are killer!

Great perspective, and yes we are almost in the same exact position. I am leaning towards booking Marriott Exec this time and saving my points for another trip.

Two last questions and I hope one day to reciprocate.

1. How strict are the exec apartments about girls smoking on the balcony? I know it's a nonsmoking hotel, just hard to imagine they enforce it if folks are careful and keep it outside.

2. I like to sauna after a night of drinking. Where would you recommend going if the hotel doesn't have one? I guess, being a Marriott member I could pay a fee at the W, or Renaissance and use theirs. Curious if you have a perspective on that.

Sao Paulo where I am staying definitely feels like a first world city. Though I also see the large wealth gap. I've known about Brazil for a while now but had the impression that people would be darker skinned and its unsafe but a great conversation with someone in Frankfurt convinced me to come.

I will say to get the most out of this place you need to know Portuguese. I prefer to talk with the girls but harder with translator in loud club. So far my impressions.

Staying at an Airbnb and unless you plan to entertain girls in your place, it is a much more economical option.

Thanks everyone so much for the incredible information in this thread (special shout outs to guys like Axel, Nounce, Bearsi, Steve 9696, Chicago85, Vagabundo, Mr. Enternational, Hidden Eye, ATexGuy, etc. Sorry for anyone I missed); not just from a hobby perspective but this forum is so informational & the reason I felt confident with the trip in regards Uber, location, etc. (never in my wildest dreams would've considered Brazil before ISG). You have an amazing city.

Location:

Stayed in Moema, very nice Manhattan type vibe area (the domestic airport situation didn't bother me whatsoever), I honestly thought getting to see all the planes land and shit was a pretty cool view. The airport noise is super loud, but honestly all I cared about was safety and being close to safe Bradesco banks. Lot's of beautiful women everywhere. The architecture in this city is so amazing. The city can feel somewhat dangerous, but I thankfully had 0 negative interactions whatsoever personally. But I definitely made sure to move in a way where I went mostly unnoticed. Basic common sense stuff like maybe splurge a little more on Uber Black when you're waiting at a fucking bank (it really wasn't that much more expensive than regular Uber but super worth it), scope out some areas on Google Maps street view beforehand so you're not looking for the entrance like a lost deer after you're dropped off somewhere. This has been mentioned on the forum hundreds of times, but friendly reminder. Don't feel pressured by the "Uber" drivers and taxi's who wait right outside the airport insisting they'll hook you up. I personally would always recommend ordering off the actual Uber map so you can always follow the live map to make sure those dudes don't secretly take you somewhere malicious or the chances of scam increase. But hey, that's just me. Also thankfully most of our top spots happen to be in pretty good areas, most likely because this industry brings in a lot of fucking money.

The Palms:

DEFINITELY made sure to hit up The Palms which is truly an amazing spot. Walked in and the owner of the establishment IMMEDIATELY hooked me up, really cool guy. Gave me the run down of the iPad, etc. The venue is absolutely incredible and I found the cute Latina receptionists (little older, don't really remember) being the one to guide you to your room so surreal and absolutely hilarious lmao. Girl comes in and is absolutely incredible, I was unfortunately pretty hungover and felt really off (not ed, just literally off) that I fucked the shit out of her the entire hour. Not sure if that was a dick move on my part, but it is what it is. We head to the famous Scandallo, and it lived up to all the hype. We were definitely stunned by the sheer volume of the place.

We enter in the ground floor and go up the elevator to the first floor to register at the desk. They have upped their cover to standard 600,400 of which is consumable for food or drink. It's easy to spend in my opinion. They give you a card that you swipe everywhere and then pay for at the end. Don't sleep on the restaurant right next to the front desk area. Had some awesome risotto there. They have a large main area, often with live music and then and outdoor area, all very luxurious and surrounded by stellar bar service. Lots of chicks everywhere.

Not having nutted in over a day now, I schedule 10 AM with Sharon Premium Spa, a provider called Moana. Stunningly hot but the experience ended up pissing me off. I'm waiting in the room for a while, she comes in and showers forever, we're already like 20 minutes in at this point. She's does this lame, not even a real massage just touching. Ok fine. The manager is very friendly as he sees us as gringos willing to spend. He says if I see any girl I like, he can bring her over. It's a cozy layout and maybe 30 ish girls at a given time. TLDR takeaways:

If you want a high likelihood of a positive experience, you have to vet somehow. Either in person on site or through forum reports / reviews. Otherwise, you are shooting in the dark, (which can be it's own thrill).

In Rio, The whole "terma" concept is gross with being in bathrobes with other dudes. Maybe it's different at the Europe FKKs (never been), but try to avoid the bathrobe thing. If you go to these places, just go there to get numbers from the few women who are any good, and then bail. The rooms are mediocre, and you don't save much if anything compared to just going to a love motel or using your own spot if you feel comfortable.

Sao Paulo has way more options, but ironically, I ended up having the best experiences hands down in Rio through gparena.

How I will handle this in the future:

Before going, I will scour gparena (Rio) or gpguia (Sao Paulo) to get a good idea of who is a good up and comer who is favorable or a veteran provider with a great track record. Then I will rank them by priority and try to schedule them for the afternoon. They often work regular work hours and not nights.

Going cold into a clinica or "spa" will remain as a last resort if other vetted options don't work out. Just too hit or miss, but I like that there are many of these options available with new ones popping up all the time, just be careful, as you are going onto someone else's turf.

For going out at night, I will prioritize Scandallo with Bomboa 222 and Casarao to round things out. My vetting process will be to have fun lighthearted discussion at the beginning and then bring conversation sexual quickly. I need to get some indication that she actually likes what she does and will bring good energy. While Scandallo is more expensive, there is no comparison on quality, but you have to go in there with a clear idea of what you're trying to do or you'll get fleeced.

For negotiating in person (you must do this or you will get fleeced). I would go down 30-50% from their opening ask and try to meet them around 25-40% down, because I noticed that when they notice you're a foreigner who doesn't speak Portuguese, they mark you up more. The local guys know amongst themselves how to keep them honest, so they get quoted closer to "fair" value. I will carry bills in various denominations in order to tip them in case they walk (assuming I called them over first). Don't be afraid to let them walk away, they will often come back. There is a misconception that negotiating will reduce the quality of the service. I don't think so. Them seeing that you have boundaries, aren't a pushover, and know what you're doing will increase their respect for you. Think of it in terms of how likely they are to score another client that night.

Good takeaways and good retrospective. I've only been to São Paulo, and I feel like I've dodged a bullet called Rio, you confirm that it's not good. I'd recommend forget Rio bathrobe experience and you need to go to FKK Sharks, it's a cleaner place and I love the laid back bathrobe spa sauna vibe.

The reviewer might feel that this was the greatest thing that ever happened to him however she might not look good to me. They usually include a link to an ad and the ad is usually gone by now. However the few links that did work and got a positive review looked ugly to me. I think it's interesting. I wonder who the people are on that forum and what they look like. But to each his own. They seem to be having fun.

It just happened to be through Gparena website instead of the clubs and requires some work to sift through and figure out.

Would love to go to FKK sharks if I ever happen to be near there, but I can't see it being near as good as Scandallo to justify a dedicated trip there.

It has a different feel from Scandallo while still being classy (or at least not Ghetto as you put it). The management seems to really be trying hard, which I respect. And there is a good likelihood you'll find at least one girl you really like and vibe with.

If I remember correct, Scandallo is 600/400 consumable and Bomboa is 400-all consumable.
