2) STRIPCLUBS-- Late night strip clubbing is a different matter. If you are street smart, Spanish speaking, sober, in a group or with a buddy-- Probably no problems. If on the other hand you like to get drunk, obnoxious and are flying solo- Well you will be targeted by all the scumbags that migrate to stripclubs to look for easy pickings. Stripclubs everywhere on this planet have taxis sitting outside waiting for the next sucker to hop in. Medellin is no different. In general MDE taxis are honest, but if you were to look for problem a strip club parking lot is where you probably find one. ME-- I would use easy taxi or hop in a taxi dropping off a fare rather than take a taxi sitting there waiting.

I recommend this, as lots of taxis have a hard time finding the mansion, even with the address. As far as taxis in the city, use easy taxi if you can, or look for the yellow taxis with meters. Great advice after getting out of the strip club. I noticed when we were at "The girls" formerly LaIsla, they tried to make us take their taxis sitting there that were white and had their name on the side. We refused and waited for a yellow taxi drop off. Pissed them off, but it's our choice.

I've been on a lot of the other boards on this Site in Asia, etc. And have yet to see someone posting / advertising their business establishment like is being done on this Forum.

I did go ahead and book the Mansion's service too. It just makes things a lot simpler. The 75 K cost is correct and for just a bit more than a regular taxi to me it just makes sense.

I will probably try to get there about 30-60 minutes after they open. I'm not big on staying out till 4-5 am anymore.

But open and good time to be there are two different things.

I think I went three nights in a row, all after 9 pm. It got exponentially more crowded as time passed. I noticed though that very few guys were actually taking the plunge. I had lots of money to spend but decided to only grab one girl each night so as not to draw attention from the other unsavory guys in the club. I asked each girl if they would come to my hotel the next day, but only one took the offer, though I didn't end up calling her. Again, centro is really shady after dark! Be safe!

Arrived at the airport last night after 10 pm, went outside and the buses to El Centro were right there. The fare is now 9000, posted on a windshield decal. Got dropped off at the final stop behind Nutibara. I checked in my hotel, freshened up, then made my way to Barra Ejecutiva. Lots of customers on a Friday night, but the problem was, there weren't enough chicks. The ones that were there, weren't too impressive either. The strippers on stage were doing something weird with shaving cream, spraying and smearing all over their body, and were rubbing it into the tipping guys' heads.

So I moved over to Club Maracaibo Show. Not as many customers there, girls-to-guys ratio was much better. Chatted up a 22 year old, negotiated 85000 for half hour, room, and BBBJ. When I pulled out my money, turned out I only 70000 in my pocket. She said ok let's go. Had an ok session, afterwards she kept pitching me to take her back to my hotel room, 100000 to stay from 2 am to 5 am. I wasn't feeling it so declined. I was hungry so walked around De Grieff and had a bowl of soup from a street vendor. Lots of police on foot patrol, road crew digging and stuff, I didn't feel unsafe at all. Yes the homeless and druggies were spaced out or spread out on the sidewalk, but, not my problem.

This afternoon went to chicas punto com. I didn't like any of the girls in the line-up. Walked one flight up to the other place. Picked a girl named Luna. Paid mama 40000. Very pretty face but loose baby belly. All rooms were taken so they put us in their "locker room" (yes the girls' lockers were in there) -- which has no bed, only sofa chairs and sheets on the damn floor! Fucked her on the chair, just like I do in the VIP room in my favorite hood strip club back home. Then we moved on to the fucking polished concrete floor. She put up a good fight and I busted before I could damage my kneecaps doing missionary on concrete.

Walked by Plaza Botero afterwards and there was some sort of free Hindu concert. Walked the 2, 3 blocks around checking out the street girls. No thanks. My verdict so far on Medellin? Take me back to Bogota. The number of girls at the strip clubs and the street vibe of Santa Fe just can't be beat. I'm sort of underwhelmed by the supposedly legendary paisa beauty. Have all the good looking ones gone to work in Bogota? I'll hit up the Conejitas and the other two strip clubs again tonight, and more casas tomorrow. See if that'll change my impression.

Executivo, Maracaibo, and Las Americas (closed?) or am I mistaken?

Great report Parkinsons. As far as the beauty is concerned you have to remember that you were at the casas and strip clubs where the girls are not really dolled up. But check out Parque Lleras tonight where the nonpros are if you want to witness the Paisa beauty that everyone speaks of. As far as comparing to Santa Fe, for me it is 6 in one hand and half dozen in the other. Depends on whether I have a taste for hot dogs or hamburgers that day. I do like my 30K hotel in Medellin better than my 45K hotel close to Santa Fe though. I'm in the process of looking for a better place to stay in the Santa Fe area. And I am sure that you could have gotten that Maracaibo chick for 60K. It is a bit cooler inside of Maracaibo too whereas it is usually hot as hell up in BE.
