They drink differently also; you order bottles and the establishment supplies chaser (at a cost) and free ice. The girls stop buy and you pour them a drink. The problem is that the girls all drink out of your shot glass. So I learned to put my chewing gum in the shot glass when I didn't want to share. Most establishments that cater to Colombians rarely serve single drinks like rum and coke.

In Medellin you start looking for ugly women because they are so rare to see.

The crime in Colombia is on a totally different level. I was in Poblado (the rich section of Medellin) and walking down the hill from the penthouse apartment me and my wingman rented, and I always noticed the two military police on every corner; each accompanied by dogs. There was a local business in the area and they feared bombings!

During my stay two Americans were killed. The Centro (poor section of Medellin) is quite dangerous at night. I had no problems navigating it but used considerable discretion and went in and out by taxi, whenever possible.

The 'Botero' museum in Medellin is in a poor neighborhood. The funny thing was that after leaving the museum we walked around and noticed many hookers leaning against the walls of the Catholic Church, looking for business, while a service was going on.

They are all on the same accord. I was doing some research and someone said the P4P in Colombia is much more pricer. Can any of you guys respond.

I've been to the DR over 30 times in 10 years so obviously I enjoy it. I've been all around the island and even stayed with some of my homeboys from NYC who still have family in the DR in various small towns. I was in Puerto Plata / Sosua 3 weeks ago and I am considering a move there along with Santiago or Santo Domingo. I'll be in Medellin in 3 weeks and I'm considering a relocation later this year to Cali or Medellin as well.

That being said, I enjoy Colombia for many of the reasons you mentioned but never found a lack of things to do. I don't have time right now to go into all of things I do, but if you have time you can check out some of the vids I've posted from my trips which tell about 20% story since they don't include things like trips to Pirate Island.

Although one can always find bargains anywhere, when it comes to chicas, the prices they charge are usually higher. The standard of living in Colombia is higher than in DR and the average wage, from what I can gather, is also higher (like everything else in life this depends on many things!).

I cannot comment on Bogota as I was only there for a day, but what I can tell you, Medellin, in my opinion, has the best selection of venues and prices ranging from street scenes, massage parlors, casa's, bars, strip clubs, etc.

My last trip I stayed in a hotel that cost about $ 15 US a night right opposite Botero Plaza in downtown Medellin. There is a square there and a church and during the day girls hangout looking for customers. I was getting CIM BJ's for less than $ 5 US and could take girls for as little as $ 10 US for an hour up to my room. Your probably wondering why it's so cheap? Because this location is a relatively unknown P4P destination, there are very few tourists in this part of town, it's very dangerous by night, and if you have blond hair and blue eyes you will be a target. I discovered this place which is a few blocks away from Avenida de la Grief on one of my previous trips. I stayed a week there and did not see a single other gringo in this part of town. For anyone thinking of venturing to this locale you will need some Spanish proficiency as nobody speaks or understands English there.

The chica Samanta I spent a day with last time was texting me constantly after I went home, and the short time I spent in the sack with her promised great things to come. In my drunken stupor (or lustful passion) it seems I had promised her a phone from Canada, although I had only said "maybe". Now a phone from Canada means only one thing, an Iphone.

Covering all bases I had picked up an Alcatel Idol Mini for a hundred bucks, to use in trade, so to speak. Great phone! Iphone clone.

Keeping my powder dry, told no one when I was arriving or where I would be staying. But after a quick check in at the Terra Linda, and about to walk over to the strip for that first cold beer, I got a text,"Hola mi amor, me en reception".

She did look fine though, so WTF let's go. That first beer tasted good! Soon we're joined by the usual crowd, off duty barrisa amiga, her brother, a couple more old amiga chicas, and it except for welcoming shots from the bar owner, looks like I'll be buying the beer. My phone is suddenly lighting up like a christams tree. Santa is back in town.

We party on the strip, and 4 of us go for pizza.

Now me barrista amiga has it all figured out. She says she will save me mucho motoconcho dinero, because brother has borrowed a car. She points to the SUV parked across the street. Tomorrow beach party with fresh fish barbeque, next day picnic at Rio, etc.

Woah! Mi amor, let's just eat the damn pizza and drink the beer, manana is another day. But now they want to go back to Charamicos and party, and they know I love Charamicos. Cheap beer and good fun, and hola to relatives and old friends.

But chica S is asking about the damn phone, so we leave them there and go back to my room, to see if the chica delivers what I expected. She does and her prize is the new phone. Then off to Charamicos. A great night!

Much later, she wants to come back to my room and stay for the night, so I say ok, we fuck for a while, then I crash out.

An hour later she's waking me up. She's hungry, WTF? I say take the 1000 peso that's sitting on the dresser and I'll see you manana. But I need money she says, me I don't have any more money, but manana, ok? No. She says I have to leave now.

Now, I know she's drunk because I watched her drinking and she has bambina at home, but this is weird, so I get up dress, and walk her over to the ATM and after a minor argument about how much, I put her on a moto and off she goes. No hassle, cut my losses and walk away. Adios Samanta! (I did faithfully follow my one rule if I'm going back to a place, cut your losses and make no enemies!)

I wake up the next day in a haze and daze. The Desk is saying my credit card payment didn't go through. I say ok, but then I find my new laptop is dead, and my phone's not working properly (outgoing) so I can't easily resolve it. Oh shit!

After 5 years a veteran here, it's all a first time experience for me, weird trouble with chica, and ALL my devices not working properly. There's also a gash in my toe I never noticed before.

But things start looking up when I meet up with Marko (the original Rockies Bar owner)

For instance I would compare Sosua's old La Passion to a place called Dr. Amor in Cali. Then there are also places like Cristal in Puerto Plata. To me those are clip joints. You walk in and have to give up $50 for two drinks and pay the house $80 for the girl to leave with you, then pay the girl a fee on top of that. There are other casas where you pay $1 / minute. There are places like the high end brothels in Santo Domingo. Then there is an area like Santa Fe in Bogota that is a neighborhood full of bars, casas, and street walkers. You pay $5 for the room and whatever you negotiate to the girl. Usually for me $10. Then you can ask the girl how much if I was to want you to come with me for all night sometime. I have never had a problem getting them to agree to $50, but for all night stuff I am with non-pros instead. Or you can go to Cartagena (the most expensive city in Colombia besides San Andres island) to La Dolce Vida (just like Classicos) and the girls will want $100 and up for all night. Also, you can go on many websites where girls advertise themselves. You will see many for $35 or $40. Then there are others where guys pay girls $300 for all night. There is no one price or one venue fits all. There is something for everybody at all price levels.

In general I am a Dominican Republic monger however next week I will be in Medellin. Colombia and the Dominican Republic are like apples and oranges they are both fruit but distinctly different. I too agree that overall Colombianas are more beautiful than Dominicanas however I prefer the Dominican Republic to Colombia. Primarily because I feel an ethnic connection to Dominicans since Hispanola was the primary port of the West African slave trade. There are plenty of Afro Colombians especially in Cartagena and Cali but not as many per capita as in the Dominican Republic.

In general (although not always) the Dominican Republic is less expensive than Colombia primarily because the airfare is more expensive. Chica prices range from La Picina casa in Cali 40, 000COP- $21. 00 to Mayorista Medellin street walkers for 20, 000COP-$10. 00 and you might have a heart attack at La Dolce Vida in Cartagena where some freelancers ask for 350, 000COP-$180. 00. Lodging and food varies with Cartagena in general being high cost due to it being the primary tourist destination in Colombia.

I have been to Medellin, Cartagena and Cali several times and I would say that Medellin gives you a cosmopolitan feel, Cartagena gives you a touristy feel and Cali gives you a rustic authentic Latin American feel. Each city is like a woman with a different personality and they need to be deal with accordingly. IMHO the Cartagena colonial city is one of the most beautiful cities in the Western Hemisphere and should be on every mongers "bucket list." The biggest turn off with Cartagena will be inflated prices the 9 that you could get in Cali at La Picina will cost you 40, 000COP but in Cartagena La DolceVida will cost you 350, 000-$180. 00. Cartagena is a great experience but be prepared to be gringo taxed.

Colombia has beaches just like the Dominican Republic however Cartagena and Santa Marta's beaches cannot touch Punta Cana's beach with sand that looks like powdered sugar and water that looks like green / blue kool aid.

I can go on and on but I will stop, the best advice is to do your research and visit each local and judge for yourself.

Another couple ordered a whole pizza and it looked a lot thinner than my slice. Here are the menus.

As far as Big D's, I now only order the 1/2 chicken with papas and salad. The order is big enough to feed me and two other girls at Herman's. Granted, I do not eat a lot. But the order is around 350 and well worth the cost.

I never took much stock in taking girls phone numbers because I always like new ones but I am glad I started taking them because on this trip I have called 3 girls I had last time and it has been a good thing we both knew each other a little. I met this non hooker and she would not take a ride to meet me she made me pick her up and when I did her dad and brother were there as well to meet me and get my tag number but that was good with me. I am sure I would enjoy myself in Thailand or in Colombia, but the in the DR there is no need to really "monger" and commercial sex establishments, because you can just pick women off the tree like low hanging fruit when you want them and integrate sex into your everyday life without making it a special activity. When you have all the good sex you want, there is no desire to monger.

In addition I like the DR. I like language, the culture, the food, the mountains, the landscaped, the music, the dancing, the people, the buses, the stores, the street markets, the vendors, the taxis, the motoconchos-everything (except the new NY Pizza restaurant pizza). When I am in the DR I am always 100% happy and never wish for a second I was somewhere else, so I have no desire to monger anywhere else, or even to monger.

I find the available DR women (and Haitian women) are bang on the demographic that I find sexually attractive, and I also find that these women perform very well in bed and are also very open to discussing sex, discussing sexual experiences and fantasies, and so on, which turns me on a lot. So Hispaniola is good for me.

I accept that if you are a guy of 60, even if reasonable looking, attractive chicas of 20 are going to have sex with you for some perceived economic benefit, so this does not bother me at all. If I am not in a long term relationship with a woman, I will give her 1000 pesos or maybe a little more for sex, but not get into exchanging cell phone numbers or Whatsapp or anything like that.

I don't mind at all if other people don't like the DR as much as I do, or if they prefer to monger elsewhere, but I just think it is a shame if they write stuff to put off those who have never been to the DR and scare them away from discovering what a great place the DR is.
