As I always travel by rental car in Germany, I try to receive quotes from different sources.

Most of the time Thrifty and Dollars gives the best rate but I read many times that this company is a total rip-off in Germany.

How about Enterprise? Anybody has experince on that Enterprise. They also give good rates in Dusseldorf for midweek rentals.

I always try to rent from the bigger companies such as Sixt, Hertz, Budget, Avis and Europcar but if this USS Enterprise is trustable, I want to sample it at least once. I saw that their office was in the DUS arrival terminal and the parking building is the same with Sixt, but only the upper floors. LOL.

Last week, Sixt asked me 40 Euro / day additional premium for CDW, for a small Peugeot 208. Midweek rates was high, maybe there was a Messe or something in the city, all other companies has run out the cars, only Sixt has the availability (They have two floors of parking in DUS)

Make sure this works for you. Also, category definitions are notoriously misleading with Enterprise: if you want a compact car, reserve an intermediate one. Finally, note that Germany requires winter tires during the winter. The extra charge can be significant. Budget includes it in the rate.

At not airport stations be ready to provide an address in Germany (Hotel address is fine, they will call to check if you are expected) , also sometimes they give you a car with a fuel tank not full, just bring it back as you received it and you're fine, never had a dispute.

Or the other way around, check the prices for dates you are interesting in going, if it's much higher than normal, there must be some reason for that and the Messe calendar would show it. What's interesting is that hotels set the prices ahead of time for the price comparison websites. Also, the prices doesn't seem to change if you book much earlier or close to when you arrive as the prices has been set ahead of time. That's what I like about German hotels, they will not try to raise the price even if you are getting near the date. Also, lodgging is higher for certain parts over other. For example, FRA lodging tends to be lower than DUSS.

It never ceases to amaze me how well the girl "stasi" as HB put it works.
