Thanks, sounds like a good place to keep as a backup. Though not sure you should be posting the exact address too much in public forums - that is if you dont want to return one day to find the casa sign gone and the owner behind bars...
But thanks a lot...
[blue]Just to put this into perspective:
Ask yourself this question: Do you really think that the incredibly poor Cuban Government will use it's very limited number of computers and very limited number of internet connections and it's very limited number of English-speaking employees to peruse the HUGE internet world looking for info that might indicate that there are some Cuban chicas who will accept money to be fucked?
Nobody is going to get anyone in trouble by posting the address of a legally registered casa.
Thanks,
Jackson[/blue]

99% sure you are right, Jackson, but I have heard and seen crazier and more paranoid things than that happen in Cuba.
I am here now, so will get back on this if I see any paranoia-records broken while here :-)

I agree with TG. This sort of stuff is more than possible in Cuba and people shouldn't be posting casa addressess in public forums, keep it to private messages please.

Jackson:
Granted, posting the address of a legal casa will not jeopordize any one but; even though Cuba is certifiably one of the poorest countries on the planet, I wouldn't assume that the government and its numberless watchers lack any funds or abilities.
For reference; check out the film "The Lives of Others", which documents life under communism in the former East Germany.
Respectfully, Schwmm

Every letter sent to Cuba is open and read. Access to the internet is controlled and monitored. Don't kid yourself, the cuban informaticas that surf the web are definitely turning in information to their Jefes. Ratting out neighbors is a national pastime. Please, PM your addresses and be careful with your contacts.

I happen to be one of those pinko communist liberals that [CodeWord140] you reactionary right wing gusanos off, but, with that said, after traveling to Cuba 5 times this year visiting my good (and I mean GOOD girl) who happens to study at UCI in la habana, I will tell you this, ... she has been personally pulled aside by school administrators and warned about her relationship with me (foreigner). It has been confirmed that they listen to our conversations over the telephone and monitor internet. She told me, they do not care that I am a professed SOCIALIST, what matters more is that I am a foreigner and an American, and that I am wooing their soon to be software engineer.

Daren,
Is not lying. When you go thru Immigration in Cuba and say you are dating a UCI Girl and see what happens to your A#s.
These girls from UCI is the equivalent of a MIT Education. They proctect these chicks.
Hell, I went over there to see my girl and they took all of my info down in the University.
-
Cubans themselves are paranoid about this and would flip to find where you posted their addresss, info etc.
I also dated a nice Cuban girl and had her mother freak on me.

Cuba paranoia??
Let me add my two cents to this whole posting addresses of casa owners etc i the internet let me say do not do it!!! while jackson is correct that the cuban government does not polivce the internet due to lack of resources etc. the cubans who have access to the internet the doctors lawyers radio and tv personalites they do vist various pages i the internet and alot of theses folk are mebers of the CDR (COMITE DE DEFENSA DE LA REVOLUCION) seasoned cuban vetreans know what i am talking about let me put it mor e plainnly these people are snitches. They will report their findings to the auhorities that is chicas (fotos) that they know and also addresses of the casa owners you could bring great distress to the aforementioned as they will be accused of advertising in a sex forum and promoting prostitution in cuba! THIS IS NOT PARANIOA THIS IS REAL!! DONT DO IT!. i have had numerous requests asking me to send my casa contacts through the private messaging function her on this board and even that i wont do. Indopendent casas that dont register girls and casa owners that do not stress you is so hard to find these days i wont ru the risk of having my favoirte casa s messed up with overzaealous mongers who dont know how to act i made the mistake of divulging info once and it cost me amd the casa owner dearly wont be doing that again. The next thing is if you have a UCI GIRL (UNIVERSIDAD DE CIENCIAS Y INFORMATICAS) do not go up to her school to pick her up meet her in havana or along the road leading to UCI as el cubanito said you mess with these girls and its like you are messing with the daughters of the revolution these girls are mainly cream of the crop students from the oriente las tunas, bayamo, holguin, santiago guantanamo even as far away as baracoa the university was built by fidel especially for the se students itis almost like a resort i have only been as far as the main gate but i have many photos fo the place (yes i have chicas there) it is like a resort minus the beach complete with pool and sporting facilites.

cuba paranoia?? pt # 2
did anyone ver notice how they built the university in the middle of nowhere ( very far from the tourist enclaves) but super close to the police academy! is that coincidence or design? i will let you decide. my first encoUnter with UCI was a shocker i went there to surprise a chica that i had been corresponding with via the internet (oh! by the way if you have a uci girl you woont have to worry about huge phone bills as these chicas have frequent access to the internet the 4th and 5th year students also have computers in their rooms) i had rented a car and drove to the university took me about 45 minutes but iahd onl just arrived from the states that day so i was extremely tired so i decided to get to the university early before she got out of class and got there at 4pm hse got out of class at 6pm the plan was to call her from a phone booth and then tell her i was outside of her school gates needless to say i got to the school gate and parked in an area that looked like a parking lot as two other (non tourist ) cars were parked there i fell asleep but set my alarm to wake me at 5 :30pm as she got out of class at 6pm and would head straight to her room and i would be able to call her there at leas t so i thought! needless to say at 5:20 pm i was awakened by a knock at the side of the car window by school security guards who demanded to see my licence and passport i gave them the licence but no passport ( i refuse to walk with it) the y took all my details and asked me who i was there to see i did not lie i told them trust me lyinmg would have been real bad! plus i was not doing anything wrong at least so i thought. they called the chica in her room she came down saw e and was vry happy to see me but shocked the y the started to interrogate her and she told them i was a family friend i speak spanish but during the entire ordeal i never let on that i spoke spanish so i got to overhear the entire interrogation it was scary! he then asked me who i was and i corraborated my girls story saying i was a family friend pheeew!!!!! i then told my girl i was going to leave and she told me to come back 2 hours later nad pick her uo on a spot along the road it would have been 8 pm by then and dark ( no street lights ) AND THE SECURITY GUARDS WOULD HAVE CHANGED SHIFTS BY THEN . I did just that and finally we got the chance to meet later she told me that UCI STUDENTS ARE FORBIDEN TO DATE FORIEGNERS (EXTRANJEROS) its a school rule!! and the girls will be expelled. word of wisdom to dareneque stop swearing fr your uci girl i wount tell you that she is not girl but these uci girls maintain relationships with cubanos in the university not saying thata your girl does that but just keep your guard up dont spoil her what too much money either just a word of advice

While I agree that posting certain casa addresses in public is obviously a bad idea, I for one will share my knowledge by PM to users I know or who have a record of posting in here.
I guess I am one of the few people with that policy seeing that my own request for info on several places, resultet in one single PM.
But without sharing, we might as well shut down these boards.

While many of us would like to be generous, the problem is that there are some people that don't understand discretion.....which in the end, costs us all.
-
Absolutely. Which is why I would never give away a favourite casa to anyone without some sort of 'track-record'.
